Hi, I’m Captain Nick Gonzalez, and welcome to My Time Fishing!
Fishing has been in my blood since I was five years old. Growing up in Tampa Bay, I’ve spent countless hours on the water, gaining firsthand experience and cultivating a deep understanding of the local area.
Now I’m proud to share my passion and extensive knowledge of Florida’s fishing scene with you.
My journey began with my dad, a generational fisherman who taught me everything I know. He fished in places like Venezuela, Miami, the Florida Keys, and Tampa, and passed down that wealth of knowledge to me.
I specialize in fishing from Tampa Bay to New Port Richey, I’ve also explored waters from Fort Pierce to the Keys, gaining a deep understanding of the diverse fishing ecosystems Florida has to offer.
My focus, however, remains on the rich, local waters of Tampa Bay, where I’ve spent the majority of my life fishing.
Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-time fisher, my goal is to provide you with an unforgettable experience, tailored to your skill level and interests. I’m dedicated to not just putting you on fish, but helping you learn and appreciate the natural beauty of our local waters. Top Targets for Nearshore include Gag Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Tripletail, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Spanish Mackerel, Hog Snapper and many shark species.

Full day inshore with Captain Nick
Fishing with Captain Nick was an out if this world experience from his charm, knowledge and prefossionalism. Caprain Nick explained to me where we were going and why the tides were important. He was ready to go with both livewells full of white bait. Soon after, we were already fishing and by the end of the day, we have caught many fish and completed my first Tampa Bay Slam. We actually stayed a little longer fishing as we were still getting bites. Thanks Captain Nick for an incredible experience. Can't wait for next time.

My colleagues and I went out with Nick one morning last week. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and engaging. The bottom line is that we caught a lot of fish. Unforgettable Fishing Trip with Captain Nick! I had an incredible time fishing with Captain Nick in Tampa. We did a mix of inshore fishing for mackerel, offshore targeting hog snapper, and even some night fishing for snook—every part of the trip was a blast. Nick uses top-of-the-line gear and clearly knows these waters like the back of his hand. His local knowledge put us right on the fish, and his ability to adapt to conditions kept the action going all day (and night). On top of that, he's just a great guy to spend time with—friendly, professional, and passionate about what he does. Whether you're an experienced angler or just getting into fishing, I can't recommend Captain Nick highly enough.
