Capt Josh's Offshore Charters is located in beautiful Port Mansfield

Capt. Josh will do whatever it takes to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing, with 4 to 10-hour trips on offer. Target Snapper and Grouper on the bottom and troll for scrappy King Mackerel and other pelagic species such as Sailfish, Tuna, and Marlin off of South Padre Island. On these trips, you can expect to employ a variety of techniques such as bottom fishing, trolling, casting poppers, slow pitch jigging, and more

Your fishing adventure starts on a 28' custom-built 2012 Sutphen center console that can safely take up to 4 anglers out to the fishing grounds at speeds of 50+mph. One of the newest, fastest, and well-appointed charter boats in the area. The boat's fast cruising speed and excellent sea-keeping abilities give Josh's guests more time fishing and the ability to travel further to better fishing spots.

Not only is Captain Josh's boat fast and safe, but it's also well-appointed with radar, head (toilet), outriggers, digital GPS anchor, autopilot, and the latest fish-finding technology. The boat is furnished with top-of-the-line rods and reels from Penn and Shimano. The gear abroad is regularly maintained and replaced with new gear every season, giving you the best advantage to get the fish of a lifetime!

We believe that your trip should be as seamless as possible thats why, unlike other charters, there are no hidden fees. Parking, fish cleaning, extra fuel charges, non alcoholic drinks, and bait are all included in the prices. The only thing you'll need is some excitement to catch some fish and a Texas saltwater fishing license!

Bring your whole family and make memories of a lifetime with Capt. Josh!

Great half day fishing in October
Half Day Trip (AM) on October 18, 20252 adults

My wife and I went fishing offshore out of Port Mansfield with Captain Josh to fish for Red Snapper. We had a really great time. Captain Josh is safety minded, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable and gave us good instructions on how to catch those Red Snappers. He has the perfect boat for off shore fishing with good rods and reels. Captain Josh is a very likeable and focused guide. After about an hour and a half trip out he put us on fish and we both caught our limit with a couple of nice big ones. We definately recommend his guide services and would use him again.

Rough seas but great trip!
Full Day Trip on July 26, 20254 adults

I can't say enough good things about our day on the water with Captain Josh. From the moment we boarded the boat, it was clear we were in expert hands. Josh was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable—not just about fishing, but about the local waters, weather patterns, and wildlife too. He made everyone in our group feel comfortable, whether they were seasoned anglers or first-timers. He provided top-notch gear, shared great tips, and was patient and encouraging throughout the trip. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he worked hard to put us on the fish. We ended the day with an impressive haul and even more impressive memories. Whether you're looking to catch your first fish or land a trophy, I highly recommend booking with Captain Josh. We'll definitely be back for another trip!

Welcome aboard! I'm Capt Josh Zachman, a deep-sea fishing guide with a wealth of experience and a formal education in Fisheries Science. My career has taken me to the waters of six continents and over 30 countries, where I've honed my expertise in the art and science of offshore angling. While I've had the privilege of pursuing trophy catches in some of the world's most breathtaking locations, my true passion lies in sharing this knowledge and excitement with others. Whether you're an experienced angler seeking new challenges or a novice eager to learn the ropes, I take great pleasure in guiding individuals of all skill levels towards memorable and successful fishing experiences. One aspect of my work that brings me particular joy is introducing kids to the wonders of fishing. There's something magical about witnessing their excitement as they reel in their first big catch or learn how to tie their first fishing knot. It's these moments that truly make every expedition unforgettable. On my boat, I strive to cultivate an environment that feels less like a guided expedition and more like a day out with friends. With my expertise in fishing and a genuine passion for the sport, I aim to blend professionalism with a laid-back atmosphere, where clients feel at ease and excited to cast their lines. Whether it's swapping stories about past catches, sharing tips and tricks, or simply enjoying the serenity of the open water, I ensure that every moment on board is filled with camaraderie and laughter. Together, we create memories that extend beyond the thrill of the catch, that make every trip feel like a reunion among friends.
