River Wanderer Outdoors
Astoria, the Columbia River, and nearby ocean offer world class fishing opportunities and I enjoy sharing every one of them with my clients. As a local guide, I fish near Astoria year round.
Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Ling Cod, Rockfish, Sturgeon and Dungeness Crab all find their way to my boat every year. The scenic and historic waters of the Lower Columbia are a great background for a day on the water whether you are fishing or just sightseeing.
Families, groups of old friends, and individuals just looking for a day on the water are all welcome. It doesn't matter if you've never held a fishing rod before, or if you've been fishing for decades, I am excited to help you find your adventure in the waters that I know and love.

Jerod is a great guide!
Jerod was a fantastic host and knowledgeable guide. He knew where to go to find fish and crab. We had multiple times where we were in fish and all hooked up and were reeling in fish at the same time. We even landed two fish in one net as that was how quick it all happened. Jerod was knowledgeable about the area and the resources and genuinely cared that we had a good exeperience fishing and in the area. He is a really interesting peraon too with lots of interesting stories to tell. We will definately use Jerod and his company again to plan pther fishing excurions! Thanks Jerod!

Fall Columbia River Coho Shared
Birthday fish
I booked last minute the day before for a surprise birthday present. My girlfriend and I had the greatest time catching coho’s. Lots of fish were caught between us although not all them went in the boat due to my reeling technique and to throw it out there for an excuse the sea lions lol. We ended the day with plenty of fish to take home. Jared our guide is the best, he made sure we got the action and we for sure got it. The day was amazing. At the end of the trip, he even filleted the fish for us! 10/10 would book again.

We had a great time on the trip. The captain was honest with us about the conditions on the ocean and proposed an alternate option of fishing for sturgeon on the river. We ended up catching quite a few big fish. Would book with Jerad again.
