There's a fish with your name on it in Golfito and Si Fly will help you catch it! Captain Julio will be your guide, bringing aboard years of angling experience.
These waters are known for Black Marlin, Almaco Jack, Roosterfish, Wahoo, Blue Marlin, African Pompano Jack, Cubera Snapper, Yellowfin Tuna, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Goliath Grouper, Snook, Mahi Mahi, Broomtail Grouper, Amberjack, and more – with any luck, it won't be long before "Fish on!" You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Julio also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Trips with Si Fly are great for kids, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Feel free to bring your own snacks to keep 'em happy!
Your vessel for the day is a 25' Kena center console with space for 4 passengers. It comes with outriggers, all the essentials. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and a hat. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.
You could keep reading this, but wouldn't you rather be fishing!
