Catch and Cruise NC welcomes you to the stunning waters of Wilmington. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Gabriel knows them forwards and back.
There's no guarantee when you're fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Amberjack, Bluefish, Skipjack, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Gag Grouper, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, Vermilion Snapper, Scup (Porgy), Bull Shark, and more, depending on the season.
On the day of your trip you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there's bowfishing.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can't go wrong with snacks!
Your vessel for the day is a 29' Pilothouse that can carry up to 6 passengers (4-5 for best comfort). It has outriggers, downriggers, all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't forget to bring sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on board.
