Here at Palmetto Tide Charters, you will be guided around the Charleston Harbor by a Charleston native, Captain Joseph Christy. Whether you have been fishing for many years or never picked up a rod and reel in your life, Captain Joseph will share his years of fishing and local knowledge with you!
Depending on tides, weather, and customer preferences, Captain Joseph will have your rods bent on anything from 7-foot bull sharks to sub-50-inch Bull Redfish to tasty Trout to filet up and throw in the fryer.
Palmetto Tide Charters welcomes kids aboard, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Captain Joseph has had much experience with helping kids of all ages reel in fish! "Fishing is a lost art in today's generation due to electronics. I love teaching the younger generation about fishing in hopes they will find a new hobby!"
Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures. Depending on the type of fishing live or dead bait will also be provided for the trip.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by Palmetto Tide Charters, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's recommended to bring a hat, snacks, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock. Waters are included, free of charge.

Awesome trip! We’ll do it again in the future!
My family and I chartered a trip for mid-October, and it couldn’t have been better! Captain Christy was super friendly and patient, and he definitely knew where to find the fish. Everyone in our group caught something, and my son caught a monster redfish that he’ll be talking about for a long, long time. It was a great experience, and we highly recommend it!

Best Charter Experience So Far...
As an angler, hiring a charter can sometimes feel like a gamble—especially when you’re taking clients out. Since relocating to the area, I’ve booked four different charters, and I can say without hesitation: this one was the best. Captain Joseph is outstanding and clearly has a long, successful career ahead of him. His communication before, during, and after the trip was top-notch, and his attention to detail showed in every part of the experience. Fishing with Joseph
Our first fishing trip and we loved it! We saw lots of dolphins and a shark feeding on top of the water. Joseph is an awesome captain. Polite, helpful, and honest. Although we caught one baby shark, we had a blast on the water. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great time with Captain Joseph. Got to catch a few different species of shark and tried our luck at some big redfish. I would recommend this experience to fishers or all experience levels. Captain Joseph made our time memorable, was very knowledgeable and personable.
