Chromeseekers – Little Lake Fish 101

Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Sunfish, Crappie, Yellow Perch, and who knows what else! On these trips, it’s common to use light tackle.

Chromeseekers welcomes kids aboard, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites so that everyone stays happy and energized!

Capt. Keygan operates a 16' StealthCraft Power Drifter jet boat that can carry up to 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Capt. Keygan has rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.

Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

Some essentials to bring are sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
