Sail Padre is here to show you the stunning waters of the Laguna Madre Bay. Your guide for the day is Captain Phillip Fruge, giving you access to their lifetime local, South Texas experience on the water.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook Snook, Croaker, Black Drum, Flounder, Ladyfish, Ray, Sheepshead, Redfish, Whiting, Speckled Trout, and whatever else takes the bait.
You can expect to do some spinning, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing most of the year.
You'll be dropping lines from a 32' catamaran that can carry up to 8 passengers. It has everything you need for a day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures and live bait is available.
Alcohol is allowed in moderation, there will be some light snacks included on board.

If you’re looking for a spectacular fishing trip, this is the one to choose. Captain Phill possesses a rare blend of intellectual depth and interpersonal warmth. Hecwas extraordinarily patient with our 10 year old, allowing him to assist in tbe filleting of the fish, shared a personal story about God with two of our older sons, and secured my safety aboard the boat, while I tried to reel in a large stingray. He even worked around the poor weather and allowed us to reschedule our trip. You’d be blessed to spend a few hours with Phill, aboard his catamaran.
A great family to fish with! See yall next time for sunset fireworks & fishing on the bay 🤙
Phil was exceptional. He patiently and skillfully guided our family of five who have almost no fishing experience. He even grew up here so he knows the island and these waters by heart. We will almost certainly book him again if we ever return.
Phillip showed us a wonderful time. Very accommodating and knowledgeable. I originally booked it for a morning trip but he recommended a sunset cruise which was definitely the right call. We even got to see a firework show on the water. Thank you for a wonderful time and a everlasting memory!
