Wallaby
If you're here to make the most of fishing in Charleston, look no further than Wallaby. Your guide for the day is Captain Lee, and you will also have a mate, and optional host/hostess.
There's no guarantee when you're fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Bluefish, Skipjack, Cero Mackerel, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Little Tunny (False Albacore), Spanish Mackerel, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, and more, depending on the season. You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, or maybe something more specialized.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, please notify us when you book your trip. So we can make sure we have the proper safety equipment for your child or children. And, you can't go wrong with snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
Your fishing boat for the day is a 44' Rybovich Sportfish that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board. The owners will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Water will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. Lunch can be provided by a local vendor, just reach out to learn more, especially if you have any dietary needs.
Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Wallaby!
