There's no guarantee when fishing, but just some of the species you can catch Inshore out of Venice include Drum, Redfish, Flounder, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Tripletail, Black Drum, Smallmouth Bass, and more.  Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, popping, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

You'll be dropping lines from a 2025 26' Blackjack 256 Bay boat with space for up to 4 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water, except you will need to bring your own food, drinks, and 1 gallon ziplock bags to carry your fish fillets home.  Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with lures.  It’s customary to offer the captain a 10–20% tip at the end of the trip.

Before coming aboard, be sure to buy a local Louisiana fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online.  Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

It's never a bad idea to bring extra bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, hat, and there is a possibility of needing seasonal rain gear or a hoodie.  Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid glass bottles.
