SlayDay Charters continues to provide both novice and seasoned anglers/anglerettes OUTSTANDING fishing memories and customer service with our beautiful 31ft vessel "Likeminded".
Whether it’s a quick 1/2-day for Bass, Sculpin, Rockfish, and Sheephead with some buddies or family, or a FULL 12-hour experience offshore for Bluefin Tuna and Yellowtail, we are confident we have an amazing experience custom-tailored for you.
Captains Cam & Mitch and our crew of deckhands will always have a smile on our faces and will create the ideal experience for you. Those experiences include:
• 3/4 day and full-day Coronado Islands (Mexico) for Yellowtail, Trophy Lingcod, and Halibut
• Full day pelagic hunts for Bluefin & Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail, and seasonal Mahi Mahi (Dorado)
•Offshore runs from as far north as San Clemente Island down to Ensenada, Mexico
• Evening Spiny Lobster hoop netting trips
• Combination fishing/lobster trips
• Kids' “Marine Life” experiences (sea lions, dolphins, pelicans/Seagulls, and some fishing)
With a comfortable wide vessel, complete with a restroom, 120 gallons of bait capacity, and a padded EVA foam deck, you’ll fall in love with how we shine above the rest.
All fish come gilled-and-gutted complimentary, and we offer fillet/vacuum-sealed services for an extra fee. (Based on per-pound for professional processing with "Coast-to-Coast Processing" at $200 minimum)

I always find it stupid when prople review a fishing charter by what they catch or the weather as if the captain has the power to comtrol the sea. This review has nothing to do with those things Things started slow looking for some top water fish but then we went deep with some cut baits and thats when the fun started. my brother in law and I took my son and three of his friends who had never caught fish before and even at 28 years old they looked like 5 year olds on Christmas. Mitch was a fantastic captain who spent the entire time tying lines and helping with bait and then looking for fish. He has a servant’s heart and isnt ashamed to use it. The boat was nothing fancy but everything uou needed. They were on time but we never felt rushed. I’ve never done a private charter but the price wasnt much more than cramming us on a 50 person boat and it was worth every extra cent.

We had 3 generations to celibate on our trip. the captain and deckhand worked their butts off all day to put us on fish. We were pulling on fish all day while the surrounding boats snuggled all day. I would highly recommend. My only comment would be is that they dont clean fish but offer processing services. Great service for processing but check prices before you go so you arent supprised.

We were under the impression we were going to mexican waters to fish for tuna and yellowtail but instead were taken to la jolla to fish for rockfish. Had specifically clarified this before the trip. Definitely not worth the money.
We respect and honor customer opinions and reviews, but this is just not true, to anyone looking to book with us. This customer paid for our most affordable “local” trip and Captain Cameron grinded for Yellowtail at Ja Jolla prior to groundfisihing. Customer was also given the chance to upgrade to Coronados or Offshore, but opted for the shorter trip. Thank you, potential customers! :)
