Cast your line into the crystal-clear mountain rivers of Miyazaki on a full-day guided fishing adventure. Depending on the season, weather and river conditions, we target Yamame (Japanese cherry trout), Nijimasu (rainbow trout), Ayu (sweetfish) and other Japanese freshwater species.
Your day begins with an early hotel pickup, followed by a scenic drive of around two hours into the mountains. Once at the river, your guide will assess the conditions and show you the best techniques and fishing spots for the day.
Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced angler, the experience is adapted to your level. Beginners receive hands-on instruction, while experienced anglers can explore different techniques and locations with the help of a local guide.
After a morning of fishing, we take a break for lunch before returning to the river for an afternoon session. Your guide will continue to provide advice and help you make the most of the changing conditions.
The experience is suitable for beginners, experienced anglers, couples and groups of friends. The focus is not only on catching fish but also on enjoying the beautiful mountain environment and experiencing a remote side of Japan.
Hotel pickup and drop-off can be arranged. Alternatively, if you rent your own car, we can arrange a meeting point the day before based on the weather and river conditions.

12 Hour – Trout Fishing Adventure on August 22, 2026Great day out on the river with adam, he spent a bit of time setting up and helping the inexperienced lads learn the basics of fly work while giving some insights to the experienced angler on where to target them. After a slow start and a short lunch break it was off to a new spot and that's where the day kicked off. Multiple hook ups and a great experience had by all. High quality and well maintained gear was provided for the day as well as a heads up on any personal gear needed. Definitely worth checking out if your keen for a good land based fishing experience in countryside Japan.
