Book your next trip with AJ fishing adventures and find out what makes the fishing in Port Hardy so unique. Your guide for the day is Captain Alex, allowing you to benefit from their sportfishing experience.
Fishing around here will often see you targeting Cod, Common Ling, Flounder, Halibut, Lingcod, Lionfish, Rockfish, Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Pink Salmon, and more, depending on the time of year.
You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Alex also offers Flounder gigging.
The fish caught are yours to take home, provided they're within size and bag limits. Capt. Alex can even clean your catch for you. Enjoy it later that day or pack it away for months into the future.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Don't forget to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Your vessel for the day is a 32' Aluminum fishing with space for 4 passengers. It has downriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.wifi cell service available for small charge
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
