Our charters depart from Masset and travel roughly 30 minutes to the fishing grounds. Chinook (King) Salmon and Halibut will be our primary targets during our day on the water, as well as Coho when they are in season. The fishing grounds in Masset are incredibly unique, as everywhere we fish is very shallow water making every bite a thrilling battle. These fish are feeding aggressively along the Graham Island shoreline and fight like no other due to the shallow water and them being in the prime of their lives. No more reeling in 300+ feet of line to catch your Halibut, we catch them in as shallow as 25 feet!

We target Salmon by trolling with single action Islander reels and Scotty downriggers. While Halibut fishing, we may anchor or troll, depending on the time of season and weather conditions. Generally we anchor earlier in the season (May and June) and troll later in the season (July-Sept) as the fish move and this becomes the most effective way to target them.

You'll be fishing aboard a 24' Grady-White that can take up to 4 passengers. We have all the top of the line gear including Scotty downriggers, single action Islander Reels, and Shimano bottom fishing gear. There is a diesel heater and a toilet on board for your convenience.

Once we return, I will "dress" the catch, taking head and guts out of the Salmon, and filleting any bottom fish. They will then be transported to the local processor just down the road to be vacuum sealed and flash frozen. The bill from the fish processor is separate from our rates.

I am fully licensed and my boat is fully insured and Transport Canada approved. I look forward to welcoming you aboard.

I was born and raised in the fishing industry on the BC coast and have spent my whole life obsessing over these fish. I have worked at various lodges and on boats all over the coast of British Columbia and have found Masset to offer the very best of everything, from large chinook to shallow water halibut fishing. I pride myself on giving my guests the best possible experience on the water from start to finish. Fully licensed and insured.
