Book your next trip with Daybreaker Inshore Charters and find out what keeps anglers coming back to St. Petersburg for more. Captain Matt is a 6th generation native who grew up on Tampa Bay and the surrounding waters, commercial fishing and mating for his father as well as other local Captains. He is a United States Coast Guard Veteran and with Captain Matthew at the helm, you'll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.

These waters are known for Spotted Seatrout, Redfish, Snook, Flounder, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Gag Grouper, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Tarpon, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some.

For these species, you're likely to fish multiple ways, ranging from drifting the grass flats for Trout, casting to mangrove shorelines for Redfish and Snook, sight fishing the beach for Tarpon or trolling the ships channel for Grouper. Capt. Matthew also offers fly fishing, but you will need to bring your own fly gear.

Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids and pets are absolutely welcome! Captain Matt specializes in Kid friendly Charters! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Don't forget to bring snacks!

Your adventure begins aboard a 22' Exuma center console that can carry up to 4 adult passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live and frozen bait is included.

Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip!

It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Great Fishing Trip!!!!
6 Hour Trip on July 8, 20262 adults

My son and I wanted to book an inshore fishing trip in the Tampa Bay area. We chose to book with Captain Matt of Daybreaker Inshore Charters. Captain Matt delivered a great fishing trip for my son and I. We were continuously catching fish throughout the entire 6 hour trip. My son even tied into a Tarpon and 3-4 foot sand shark. We caught plenty of speckled trout, mangrove and black snapper, and ladyfish!!! His boat and fishing equipment were meticulously clean and well maintained. We will definitely be fishing with Captain Matt on the next trip to the Tampa area!!! You will not be disappointed with booking a fishing trip with Captain Matt!!!!!

Reported catch:
Mangrove Snapper
Tarpon
Speckled Trout
