Calloway's Guide Service welcomes you to the stunning waters of Soldotna.
These waters are known for Pink Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Dolly Varden, and more - with any luck, it won't be long before 'Fish on!'
During the trip you might be spinning, trolling, drifting, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. River also offers fly fishing.
Young ones are welcome, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can't go wrong with snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Your day begins aboard a 20' Drift boat or power boat that can carry up to 5 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water.
Rods, reels, waders, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures.
Before coming aboard, it may be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Families are always welcome on my trips. I strongly encourage kids to get out on the water and create lasting outdoor experiences. There are no age restrictions for my trips, however kids ages 13 and under are required by law to wear a lifejacket.
Don't leave home without sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We caught a bunch of fish even though we are the very definition of inexperienced fisherman. River was very patient with my 9 year old who ended up catching four salmon by the end of the trip.

As a lifelong resident of Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, I bring a deep-rooted understanding of these waters that only comes from growing up here. I was raised fishing these rivers, learning their rhythms through every season – watching runs build, water levels change, and fish behavior shift day by day. What started as a passion at a young age quickly became a way of life, and by 18, I was already guiding others on the same waters I'd spent years exploring. Over time, that experience has turned into a strong, instinctive knowledge of the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers. I know where fish hold in different conditions, how weather and tides influence movement, and when to adjust strategies to stay on fish. More importantly, I understand how to create a successful and enjoyable day for every client, whether you're brand new to fishing or have years of experience. Being a local isn't just about knowing the water – it's about respecting it. I take pride in sharing not only productive fishing techniques, but also the history, wildlife, and unique character of the peninsula. My goal is to give every client an authentic Alaskan experience, built on local knowledge, patience, and a genuine love for what I do.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 50% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
