There's no guarantee when you're fishing, but the odds are defiantly in your favor with Rod and Pan Guide Service. Some of the species you can catch around here include Walleye, Bluegill, Yellow Bass, Catfish, Largemouth Bass, and more with any luck.
On these trips, it's common to jig fish with live bait as well as troll all using light tackle.
Rod and Pan Guide Service is a child-friendly charter service, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Children under 12 must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
You'll be welcome aboard a 21' Aluminum fishing with capacity for 5 passengers. It has all the essentials.
Capt. Joe will provide rods, reel and all the bait.
All customers 16 and over are required to have a valid Illinois Fishing License prior to us leaving the dock. One day licenses up to annual can be purchased on the Illinois DNR website.
A few items to bring include sunscreen (non-spray), a hat and sunglasses. Drinks (water and gatorade) will be available for you onboard. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had the best time fishing with Joe from Rod & Pan on Fox Lake. I brought my 7-year-old son along, and Joe was absolutely fantastic with him. He was patient from start to finish, took the time to teach him proper casting technique, and answered every single question my son threw at him (and there were a lot!). Joe clearly knows these waters well, because we ended up catching a ton of fish -- even a couple keepers! One of the highlights was the fish fry back at Joe's house afterward. Joe cooked up fresh walleye, potatoes, and baked beans over a campfire — such a special, unique touch that made the whole day feel like more than just a fishing trip. It was a memory my son and I will keep for a long time. Can’t recommend Joe enough, especially if you’re looking to introduce a kid to fishing. We’ll definitely be back!
We had an excellent 4-hour fishing trip with Captain Joe. He was attentive, professional, and clearly very experienced. His knowledge of the area, fishing spots, and effective techniques helped us make the most of our time on the water. We caught walleyes, crappie, bass, and white drum, and he did a great job guiding us throughout the trip and keeping us on fish. The trip was a great value, fun from start to finish, and a memorable experience for everyone. I highly recommend Captain Joe to anyone looking for a knowledgeable guide and a successful day of fishing.

caption Joe was amazing, very knowledgeable! Had a slow start but Joe found the perfect spot for fish and my husband and i had amazing time booked for 6 hours and was fishing for amost 7. Joe even gave ideas for shore fishing spots as well as a container of worms for us to continue fishing the rest of the day.

Had an amazing time fishing on Fox Lake with Captain Joe! Everything was excellent from start to finish. Captain Joe was friendly, knowledgeable, and knew exactly where the fish were biting. We caught around 40 fish and filled an entire cooler! The trip was fun, relaxed, and perfect for both experienced anglers and beginners. Highly recommend this guided fishing tour if you want a great day on the water and lots of action. Will definitely book again!

I took my son and his friends out to celebrate my son’s birthday. Captain Joe very patiently waited for us even though we were running late. All the boys caught fish (mostly walleye -some of the fish were huge!) and got to see some local wildlife that we don’t normally see at home. Captain Joe hooked us up with absolutely everything - rods, bait, tools, etc. and provided some Gatorade and water. Genuinely nice guy.
