Alan personally holds the World Record for a 42.5 lb Blackfin Tuna on a 50 lb test line, as well as reeling in 6 of the largest Blue Marlin in Bermuda's waters weighing over 1100 lb. Ian holds the Bermuda Record for the largest Mako Shark, weighing an impressive 821 lb. Although it's unlikely you'll reel in a Marlin, Tuna, or Shark this big, you'll definitely have a better chance of catching one with this crew.
Also expect to catch Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, and Red Snapper. Some species you'll be able to keep, which the captain will fillet for you.

Full Day Trip on August 25, 2026 • 4 adults • 1 childTruly an amazing father son duo with over 100 years of experience fishing these waters and working together for 35 years! Captain Alan was truly amazing and the boat is very well equipped and all equipment is like new. The first mate (Alan’s son) takes so much pride in his work and is always managing the lines. My 7 year old nephew was a little nervous but he knew exactly what to do to help him land his first tuna. I would highly recommend them and we will be back for future trips!

Full Day Trip on September 7, 2026 • 4 adultsmy husband‘s and sons had a great time. Great boat great location. They were catching things when a lot of the other boats are one hour weren’t catching anything. Nothing went to waste. If we couldn’t eat it the captain was able to sell the catch to local restaurants. it was a very good trip. Be sure to take anti nausea meds before the trip if uiure prone to sea sickness

Full Day Trip on July 11, 2026 • 6 adultsMarine forecast was a bit iffy for the day and Alan wanted to make sure we knew what we were getting into (and gove us the chance to reschedule or back out). The water was rough, but the day was great! Three generation of the Card family were a well oiled machine and found us the fish - landed three wahoo, three barracuda, and released a beautiful white marlin. Literally a dream come true for my brother and I. Thank you Alan, Ian, and Tyler for a stellar day.

3/4 Day Trip on April 19, 2025 • 2 adultsMy son and I had a fantastic trip with Alan and Ian. They are great guys and complete professionals when it comes to fishing. They were obviously extremely knowledgeable about the fishing grounds, their equipment and their boat. They also made my son and I feel very welcome and comfortable and were great to talk to. Ian was an excellent and patient teacher, especially with my son. He worked extremely hard to maximize our chances of catching fish, keeping 5 lines running all the time and regularly checking them for weed and adjusting them (we were trolling). His efforts and expertise paid off and we had a very successful day catching Wahoo, Yellowfin and Mahi Mahi. The boat is also just about perfect. Fast, plenty big enough and lots of seating in the shade. I recommend Challenger to anyone looking to maximize their chances of catching fish while also having a really pleasant day on the water with two great guys on a great boat.

3/4 Day Trip on June 7, 2025 • 2 adultsAlan and Ian took out for a 3/4 day trip, and my son and I could not have been happier with everything. Alan has been finshing Bermuda his entire life, and he knows what's hitting, and where to find them. We landed 4 yellowfin in total, but one of them was over 100lb and another was 70lb. What a great fight both fish put up. Ian was amazing in helping us land the fish. We're already planning on next trip to Bermuda, and Challenger Charters will absolutely be taking us out again. Thank you Alan and Ian!

so impressive. this team has it down to a super-smooth operation. we were always over good structure and had multiple baits in the water at all times. Even on a hot flat day we drew 15 strikes and landed 14. At one point we had four tuna on at once and somehow ian got us through it without our tying all four rods together. You never know whats gonna be out there on a given day, but if anything is out there, these guys will find it. They're the real thing, old bermuda fishing. book them when you can. ben. september 2026.
Our group of 4 had a wonderful time on the water with Captain Alan and Ian aboard Challenger. Their experience and expert knowledge of Bermuda's surrounding waters put us onto fish right away. We ended up boating 5 Wahoo, a Yellowfin Tuna and a Baracuda. We were graciously provided with a generous portion of the catch that we were able to enjoy with friends later that evening. We hope to get out on Challenger again during our next trip to Bermuda. Highly recommended.

Capt Alan Card has forgotten more about fishing than i'll ever know. What a great guy! He knows the water, the bottom and the way fish think. First mate Ian is the Captain's som they've been a team for 31 years and with them was Tyler. Captain's grandson. Great tradition! Couldn't have been more helpful and they work! As Ian said, they get paid to catch fish. No one likes to end the day withour a fish, but there are a lot if ways you can get there, and this crew made us comfortable, taught us a lot about marlin fishing in Bermuda, even taught me a terrific knot! My wife, a freind and I had an excellent day fishing with Challenger Fishing in Bermuda. Captain Alan and Ian were knowledgeable, professional, and worked hard throughout the trip to put us on fish. We landed a 60-pound yellowfin tuna and had plenty of action along the way. What made the trip especially enjoyable was how much we learned about Bermuda's local fishery, fishing techniques, and the unique marine environment around the island.
