Your excursion begins aboard a 40' Seahunter, equipped with seakeeper, that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
If you plan on fishing in Freeport/ Surfside Texas, look no further than Kidd Fishing Adventures.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Red Snapper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Cobia, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Crimson Snapper, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Scamp Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Red Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Swordfish, and who knows what else!
You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Before coming aboard, you may need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
