You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.

Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

You can't go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own.
