Captain Braulio Estrella has dedicated most of his life to fishing and navigating the coastline of Punta Mita and Bahía de Banderas. His experience comes not only from years on the water, but from truly knowing the local conditions, seasonal patterns, and fishing grounds that make each trip possible.
Today, he is joined by his son, Brian Estrella, who has returned to the family business after spending a few years away. Together, they continue a family tradition built on hard work, honest service, and a genuine love for sharing these waters with others. With over three decades of experience and a new generation carrying the tradition forward, Estrella Sportfishing Charters offers guests a personal, safe, and authentic fishing experience in Punta Mita.
Depending on the season and conditions, guests may have the chance to target Mahi-Mahi (Dorado), Roosterfish, African Pompano, Jack Crevalle, Skipjack, Sailfish, and other local species found in the waters of Punta Mita and Bahía de Banderas. Seasonal species such as Tuna and Sierra may also be available at certain times of the year.
Trips take place aboard a 27’ Panga, ideal for small private groups of up to 4 guests who want a comfortable and personalized day on the water. Whether you’re an experienced angler looking for your next catch or a family trying fishing for the first time, our goal is simple: to provide an honest, enjoyable, and memorable day on the water.
Fishing gear, tackle, and lures are all provided, along with bottled water, soft drinks, and Gatorade. Morning trips also include lunch. If you have any questions before booking, we’ll be happy to help you choose the trip that best suits your group and preferences.

Braulio and Brian are great to be around and great boat captains..I have fished with them several times.They are very helpful and great fishermen. We caught a lot of fish! You can take your preferred refreshments and snacks. Braulio had some sandwiches on our trip a nice added service.. We caught Dorado and Jack Crevelle along trash lines. I am included some pics of the recent catches and past catches. For a great family owned fishing trip then I would definately give 5 stars! Tight lines for sure. We also had fun going to the Hidden Beach and saw Blue footed Boobies another day. Great fun.

- Fishing license (Fishing licenses are included for all guests and covered by the boat and crew. No additional fishing license is required.)
