Flying Fish Captain Services, located in Crystal River, Florida, is driven to help clients make lasting memories. The motto of “Make memories, not excuses” is the backbone the adventure-driven Florida natives use in their daily lives.
Redfish, Snook, and Trout are targeted year-round. Certain times of year are dedicated to one species more over the other. For example, during Snook season, Snook are the primary target throughout the day, then we substitute in other species as the day goes on. Gag Grouper, Sheepshead, Black Drum, and Tripletail are also season-dependent fish.
All of these fish will be caught using spinning tackle; lighter spinning gear and artificial lures may be used per client request!
Children are welcome, so feel free to make a family day out of it! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, please reach out, as they are provided upon request. Don't forget to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized! Ice water and sunscreen will be provided.
Your boat for the day is a 22' ShearWater bay boat that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. This boat is used for most activities.
Other available boats include a twin-engine jet drive. This is ideal for scalloping with family or friends!
Flying Fish Captain Services will supply rods, reels, and all tackle for you. For scalloping, all masks/snorkels, bags, and flotation pads will be provided.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. (All licenses are provided per captain.)
It's recommended to bring a hat and sunglasses. Sunscreen and ice water will be available for you.

We were unable to go scalloping because our boat had issues. Had family in from Colorado and this trip was planned for a year and my grandkids were so upset that we couldn't take the boat out. I booked a charter with Ethan and he couldn't take all 9 of us out so he got his buddy Brody and between the 2 of them they took us out . They put us on the scallops and were very good with the kids . The boats were in good shape and the ride was comfortable. Ethan even had a big floating chair for my 3 year old grand daughter and my daughter. It made the last day of our trip unforgettable. I would definitely recommend Ethan Womack or Brody Slane . They went above and beyond ...many thanks to both of you.
We had a great time with Captain Ethan! He put us on the fish and we were catching them one after the other while we watched a beautiful sunset! Captain Ethan was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, we will definitely book with him again!
Had a great time fishing with Capt. Ethan! I don’t do a lot of saltwater fishing so I’m very happy that I booked with him after a friend recommended him. He’s very knowledgeable, will book again in the fall!

Ethan Womack developed a deep passion for the outdoors at a young age. He obtained a Florida boater's license at the age of ten and was set free to explore on his own the backwaters of Crystal River, FL, in a 12ft RHIB. This is where the love and dedication for fishing began. By working odd jobs and saving his money, boats got bigger, and so did the urge to explore Florida's Gulf Coast. Still armed with the freedom to explore, Ethan began fishing multiple times a week in Crystal River, expanding all the way to Keaton Beach throughout high school and college. Ethan's college focus was environmental sciences and oceanography, but he had another call for exploration: Corporate Aviation. Ethan quickly excelled in the aviation profession by obtaining single- and multi-engine airplane ratings while working toward a Bachelor's degree in aviation management. His passion for flying, fishing, and the call to the sea persuaded Ethan to merge two different industries by starting Flying Fish Captain Services.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 7 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
