Hang-On! Fishing Charters
Light tackle fishing In the backwater, inlet, or ocean aboard Hang-On! a 26' Pathfinder Tower Boat.
Spincast, livebait, flyfish, or troll for:
Spanish and King Mackerel, Speckled and Gray Trout, Red and Black Drum, Cobia, Bluefish, Flounder, False Albacore, and more!
Experience light tackle fishing on one of the most modern fishing machines made for shallow water. The Florida-built Pathfinder with its 300-horsepower Yamaha will get you to the fishing grounds with speeds over 40 mph, and the Captain's Tower will assure you the best possible chance for sight-casting the 'Big One!'
The boat is equipped with high-tech electronics, Coast Guard-approved safety equipment, two live bait wells, and an engine jack plate for speedy rides through very shallow water. Fish-Food-Drink Storage, all necessary fishing tackle, and a little shade are provided. Your saltwater fishing license is included at no extra charge!
Trips will cover the waters near Hatteras Inlet on the Pamlico Sound and the Ocean Side (calm days) and may span toward the North as far as the town of Buxton and to the South near Mid-Ocracoke Island. When appropriate, emphasis will be placed on Sight-Casting Artificial Lures to surfacing fish, as well as In-The-Blind Casting where certain species of fish are likely to congregate.
In 1989 I was invited by the owner of Hatteras Harbor Marina to be their first full-time nearshore/inshore fishing guide since the entire fleet had always been an Offshore Gulf Stream fleet. This is my 36th consecutive year working out of this Marina. In 2000, I added a tower to my boat to improve sight casting to the increasing number of Cobia in the area, and to spot Red Drum easier. Ever since, over 90% of the small boats in Hatteras have added towers to help more than triple the distance fish can be located.

Captain Steven Gwin did his best to put us on some fish. Communication with Steven prior to going out was great. He kept us apprised of the weather, answered questions and investigated dining options for us. He has been in Hatteras for years so he knows a lot of history about the area. i can highly suggest booking a charter with Captain Gwin.

Thank you Tony. Come back to see me ! Steve
Hatteras, North Carolina, United States
I grew up fishing the VA mountains at age 5. When moving to Hatteras in the early 1980's I had retired from teaching public school Band in Winchester, VA and at Cape Hatteras, NC. Owning my first boat here got me hooked !
