Reel Action Sportfishing Charters
Chase trophy Chinook Salmon, Steelhead, and Lake Trout on Lake Ontario with Reel Action Sportfishing Charters, running out of the Port of Rochester. Captain Tom brings 25+ years of experience and a boat built for stability offshore, so you spend your day fighting fish, not fighting the water. First mate Shea handles the net, the rigging, and the fillet knife — you just reel.
My philosophy is simple: a safe, first-class experience where the thrill of the catch meets the comfort of a professional charter, every time out.
Kids are welcome — ages 3 to 100. Let us know if you need a child-sized life vest, and feel free to bring snacks for the trip.
You'll fish aboard a 37' Trojan Sportfishing, restored in 2026, built for stability and comfort on Lake Ontario. She's rigged with outriggers, downriggers, a full marine head, and everything you need for a productive day — rods, reels, tackle, and lures included.
We run divers and downriggers to reach fish at every depth, adjusting through the season for Chinook, Coho, Steelhead, Brown Trout, and Lake Trout. We fish where the fish are — east to the Webster shoreline, west to the structure off Braddock's Bay, or out to the Scotch Bonnet Ridge — adapting to whatever conditions Mother Nature lays out.. Every trip is planned around current water temps and bait movement, so you're fishing where the fish actually are, not just where they were last week.
First Mate Shea has practically grown up aboard the Reel Action III and brings years of hands-on experience to every trip. Whether he’s setting rods, netting fish, or spotting opportunities on the water, he works hard to help make your day a success. A 20–25% tip for your mate is customary and appreciated.
You'll need a local fishing license before the trip (ask us if you're not sure how to get one). Bring bottled water, non-spray sunscreen, and sunglasses; other drinks are welcome, alcohol in moderation — no hard liquor or glass bottles, please.
