His 22’ Century boat can comfortably fit 4 anglers at once, without you crossing rods. With its 115 HP engine, great captain, and navigational equipment you will be on the fish in no time.
You can expect to fish a multitude of species, including, but not limited to, Barracuda, Cobia, Redfish, Kingfish, Permit, Snapper, and Seatrout. All of these great species, and you won’t even be too far from shore. That makes these trips great for people of all experience levels.
Children are especially welcome aboard. Capt. Scott loves to see the kids hook their first fish, their excitement is so contagious! He will happily educate the younger generation on how to fish and the importance of looking after the ecosystem by catching and releasing fish wherever possible.
Of course, Capt. Scott will make sure you have plenty for dinner, and will fillet the fish for you, so they are ready to go. However, any and all fish that you decide not to eat will be released. This way, the rivers of Sarasota stay plentiful year after year, for your continued enjoyment.
Capt. Scott will provide all rods and reels, lures, and live bait, which he will prepare in advance of your trip. This will allow you more time to fish and go after you desired catch. Fishing license is also included. It is recommended that you bring plenty of water and any snacks you fancy.

Perfect day for the family
4 Hour Trip (AM) FOR 4 PEOPLE on July 1, 2025
Brought my father in law and two older kids (12 and 9) for a 4 hour inshore charter, our first time doing this activity in Sarasota. Caught about 40 fish of 7 species including 2 sharks. Captain Scott was prepared, great with the kids and moved around the bay until we found schools of fish to catch. We come to Sarasota every summer and will be doing this again, my kids loved it and requested another trip with Captain Scott. Awesome day all around.

4 Hour Trip (AM) FOR 2 PEOPLE on May 2, 2025
This is our second annual fishing trip with Capt Scott in Sarasota Bay. I didn’t think this trip could possibly be better than last year’s trip, however I was wrong. As like last year, Capt got us on the fish in no time and offers great advice to improve fishing skills. Among other species we caught our limit on trout, a pompano, a small grouper, and dozens of lady fish. I don’t think we had any more than one minute without action. Was it just a perfect fishing day? I don’t think so, Capt Scott got us right on the fish. Capt Scott is a great story teller and does a great job cleaning and packing the fish also. My wife and I are looking forward to our third annual fishing trip with Capt Scott again next year!

4 Hour Trip (PM) FOR 4 PEOPLE on March 1, 2025
I took my family out for a 4-hour trip with Captain Scott, our goal being to catch a couple keepers, including one for my 3.5-year-old daughter. Captain Scott got us on the fish right away, as we had action from speckled seatrout all day, including a personal best keeper for me. I also snagged a huge spanish mackerel, leaving us with a nice dinner to come home to. Captain Scott was fantastic with my family, none of whom are experienced anglers, and he was very generous with his knowledge all around. We came away not only with a bunch of fish, but with more knowledge on how to go out and get them ourselves. For anyone who wants a friendly, knowledgeable, and patient Captain, I highly recommend Rodbender!

A Great Trip
4 Hour Trip (AM) FOR 1 PERSON on February 8, 2025
Went out solo with Captain Scott on 2/8/25. Had a blast on the water with Captain Scott. Caught several pinfish as well as two nice-sized Spanish Mackerel and a good-sized Sea Trout. Captain Scott knows his stuff having fished the local waters for 30 years. Captain Scott is also extremely knowledgeable and more than willing to help new anglers learn the sport as well as improve the techniques of seasoned anglers. Overall, Captain Scott was incredible and the fishing was even better. I'll certainly be giving Captain Scott a call next time I'm in town!

Captain Scott Green owns and operates Rodbender Fishing Charters in Sarasota Florida. He grew up in Iowa and fished many years in Canada with his father and twin brother. When he arrived in Sarasota in December of 1982, he started fishing Sarasota Bay. As he fished with his friends and neighbors they told him he should become a professional fishing guide. Well he did just that. The last 34 years Captain Scott has had the best fishing of his life in the Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico area. Now he loves showing visitors the thrill of saltwater fishing. Captain Scott loves to have kids on the boat; he always has fun when the kids are having fun. The look on a little girl or boys face when they bring that big fish in the boat and show it to you is priceless, but the look on your faces is priceless to him.
