Fish & Cruise Wanaka 

Second time round for us and it won't be our last. Captain Juno was both an excellent fishing guide, fisherman, and very knowledgeable about the lake, the fish species and the area in general. The trout fishing is by way of very slow trolling which in itself is an eye opener for an experienced salt water fisho like myself. If you only get to come to Wanaka once, you owe it to yourself to get out on the Lake and do something which not many people get a chance to do back home. Very highly recommended.

My mate and I had a very enjoyable morning fishing on Lake Wanaka with Jeno from Fish & Cruise Wanaka. We left at 6 am on a beautiful December morning, just as the sun was coming up. We trolled for 3 hours and caught some lovely brown trout, up to around 4 pound. We kept 2 which we took home and cooked, both tasted lovely. Jeno is a very knowledgeable local who can tell you a lot about the local fishing and history. The boat was ideal for 2 fishermen and the equipment in very good shape. Jeno will even cook the fish on the boat for you if you want to taste your catch. Really enjoyed our morning fishing with Jeno and can thoroughly recommend Fish & Cruise Wanaka.

Efficient- had our fishing license within minutes & were under way. Great boat! Everything in it's place & very tidy. Knowledgeable about Wanaka & the lake... also, willing to share the info. Great guidance & patience- (trolling Wanaka very different than fly fishing in the Rockies). Awesome chefs- grilled 1 of our freshly caught trouts & prepared 1 to-go for us to cook in our condo that evening. Great multitaskers- landed 2 large trout, cleaned them while grilling another... all simultaneously. Customer service above & beyond- Emma assisted us with some transportation concerns. Gino & Emma make a outstanding team. Work well together & are great company. Add to that: the view was awesome, weather was perfect & the fishing was amazing. Can we go back?!

Gino was awesome. He knew Lake Wanaka like the back of his hand. He put my son and I in the most productive spots, and we started getting bites and catching almost immediately. Even though it was summer, and apparently the slowest time of the year, we managed to catch our limit. Gino is also a good cook and cooked our catch right on the boat for breakfast. A really good experience and I would definitely recommend.
