Sicily Fishing & Lodging 

Das beste Erlebnis meines Sizilien-Urlaubs! Wir haben Andrea und Luca am Hafen getroffen und von dort aus unsere Tour zum Blauflossen-Thunfisch-Angeln gestartet. Zunächst fuhren wir aufs Meer hinaus, um Köderfische zu angeln, schon das hat unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht. Anschließend ging es etwa 11 Meilen hinaus aufs offene Meer, umgeben von nichts als Wasser. Dort bereiteten wir das Setup für die Thunfische vor, und schon kurze Zeit später war es soweit: Ich kämpfte mit einem False Albacore und konnte ihn erfolgreich landen. Wenig später hatten wir einen weiteren Biss, diesmal ein Thunfisch mit über 250 kg. Nach einem intensiven 45-minütigen Kampf mussten wir ihn leider ziehen lassen. Trotzdem war dieses Erlebnis absolut beeindruckend. Die Kulisse war einfach unbeschreiblich: Die Sonne ging langsam unter, Delfine sprangen neben dem Boot, ein wirklich magischer Moment. Zum Abschluss fuhren wir noch in eine Bucht, um Barrakudas zu angeln, begleitet von einem traumhaften Sonnenuntergang. Andrea und Luca sind unglaublich herzliche Menschen. Luca bereitete uns auf hoher See ein leckeres Essen mit frischen, regionalen Zutaten zu, und Andrea war mit voller Leidenschaft beim Fischen dabei. Er gab uns wertvolle Tipps, fieberte bei jedem Drill mit und erzählte uns viel über die Region und die Fischerei. Wer auf der Suche nach einem authentischen, besonderen und unvergesslichen Erlebnis auf Sizilien ist, ist bei Andrea genau richtig. Eine absolute Empfehlung!

I recently spent two incredible days fishing out of Marzamemi in south-eastern Sicily with Captain Andreas and crewman Luca from Sicily Fishing, targeting XL Bluefin Tuna, and it was an experience we'll never forget. From the moment we stepped aboard, Andreas' passion for both fishing and Sicily was obvious. His knowledge of the local waters, the fishery, and the region itself added so much to the trip. He was always happy to share his expertise and teach us different techniques, making it not only a successful fishing adventure but also a fantastic learning experience. The fishing was outstanding and physically demanding, On day one, we caught and released an estimated 250–300kg Bluefin Tuna with over 2 hours of fight time, and on day two we successfully caught and released another magnificent fish of around 100kg. The power and size of these fish were truly unforgettable.both fish were successfully released. Andrea's uses high end Shimano reels and Sicilian blank game rods! What really sets Sicily Fishing apart is the people. Andreas and Luca worked tirelessly to give me the best possible experience while keeping the atmosphere relaxed, enjoyable, and full of laughs. Their professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine love for what they do made every moment on the water memorable. Fishing in a new country is always exciting, but Sicily Fishing delivered an experience that exceeded all expectations. Not only did i have incredible success on the water, but we also learned new techniques, gained a deeper appreciation for Sicilian fishing culture, and created memories that will last a lifetime. We met as agreed at the port of Marzamemi at 6 a.m., about 50 minutes from Syracuse, for an offshore trolling trip. Andrea had already said in advance that it would be difficult to catch a bluefin tuna at this time of year, but that it was still possible, as well as other tuna species and swordfish. There is also a good chance of catching mahimahi, amberjack, and other predators while light game trolling. After about 3 hours with the heavy gear and no activity from the large tuna, we switched to light game tackle and promptly caught some beautiful mahimahis up to about 80cm, pilot fish, amberjacks, and finally, a small bluefin tuna each. If you have never done it before, you have to experience it. Despite their small size, the fish fight like a big pike in summer - it's really amazing. Not only I, but also my partner was taken to the fish by Andrea and his colleague Luca and, even though she has nothing to do with fishing, we had a good time. Snacks, fruit, sandwiches, and all kinds of cold drinks were provided. Andrea's handling of the fish is very respectful, which I really liked. All in all, it was a truly wonderful experience that I would warmly recommend to everyone.

Overall it was a great trip, highly recommend. The crew worked hard to get us on fish while making you feel like family.

Andrea and his mate Luca were excellent guides. They know everything about fishing and the area. Food and drinks were great. If you want to be sure to make the best out of a day fishing, then book those guys :)
