Fish with Orvis-endorsed fishing guide, Captain Roger Gendron.

Fly Fishing FL charters is an Orvis endorsed guide service specializing in fly fishing and light tackle angling on the incredible flats and in the back country of Charlotte Harbor in Southwest Florida.  The Harbor and nearby rivers to the north and bays to the south are a fly angler's wonderland. Whether gliding quietly across a shallow flat or sneaking through the mangrove jungles, fly casting opportunities for a variety of species abound year-round.

Reserve your day on our super shallow Maverick poling skiff, beautifully restored in 2023, she is clean and pretty and rides as good as she looks. The definitive selection for furtive fish hunting and simply a gas to fish from. Go solo or bring a witness. The 2-passenger limit offers enhanced opportunities for each angler.

Top-brand rods, reels, from Orvis and others including custom tied flies, and all required tackle are provided. But you are welcome to bring your favorite fishing outfit. Fishing licenses for any resident or visitor are NOT required while onboard our skiff.  You will be offered complimentary icy-cold bottled water.

Your captain is a certified "Florida Friendly" eco-conscious guide by the University of Florida and is dedicated to a quality fishing experience and a safe, enjoyable day on the water.

This is a quality over quantity excursion that requires progressive fly casting and retrieval methods and proficiency.  If you are new to fly fishing, we strongly recommend attending a fly casting clinic before considering our service. However, if you appreciate the challenge of connecting with your quarry and consider yourself a capable, or diligent, angler your reward swims here.

Light tackle anglers will experience the same environment and opportunities utilizing a broad range of artificial baits and techniques. We do not fish with live bait other than shrimp when available.

Excellent Opportunity

Highly Recommend Captain Roger! Very knowledgeable and patient. The bite was slow, weather was not great, but we still managed to boat some fish. First time fly fishing in Florida, hopefully not the last.

Let's be real it was the first time fly fishing anywhere! To catch a few on fly on a windy day is quite impressive. Don't worry, as your casting continues to improve, so will the bite. Great effort out there.

Super great day fishing! Captain Roger always had a plan for the next place to catch fish and we did. Very chill experience soaking up nature which included dolphins, sharks, and manatees.
