Reel Time Fishing Charters offers a range of affordable trip options, a captain with more than 2 decades of experience on the water, a stable fishing platform, convenient moorage, and secure parking. Captain Turk’s friendly personality, extensive knowledge of the area, and his love and enjoyment of guiding are just some of the reasons his clients return year after year.

You will be fishing aboard a 26 ft Hourston Glascraft which features a galley (sink, table, fridge, and fully private and enclosed bathroom), a spacious deck for fishing, and a flybridge for optimal views on those nice summer days. The boat can accommodate up to six guests. The captain and the boat are Transport Canada certified and approved.

When it comes to the fishing, Nanaimo offers the avid angler an opportunity to land a trophy Chinook Salmon. Other species of fish caught in the local waters are Lingcod and Coho Salmon. The season openings for these fish are as follows: Lingcod – May 1st to September 30, 2024, Coho Salmon – June 1st through December 31, 2024, and Chinook Salmon – January through March and July 15th through December 31st, 2024.

Crabbing is another activity you can enjoy upon request. There are also scenic and wildlife options for those who wish to mix it up a little.

Captain Turk is excellent in running the fishing charter. His experience shows from the time you meet board and disembark.

Captain Turk: gave us a great fishing experience which he can tune to the level of the fishing guests on board, novice to experienced. Has great knowledge of the coastal waters we fished, the local history, puts safety as top priority, reviewed all safety issues and concerns before leaving the dock answering questions, knows and follows all BC and Canada fishing licence and regs. Handled catch and release for us, which we reviewed before but he knew and managed for us. His vessel handles the local waters perfectly, especially in the chop of the water. He is safety first, precise, with direct instructions, efficient, friendly and accommodating. We had a great experience and salmon steaks later that night.

From start to finish, it was one of the highlights of our trip! The crew was professional, friendly, and knew exactly where to take us for the best action. We had so much fun out on the water, and everyone in our family was included in the adventure. The excitement really hit when we started reeling in — we caught both coho and Chinook, which made the day unforgettable. It wasn’t just about fishing, either — the atmosphere on the boat was relaxed, upbeat, and full of laughs. Our teens loved it just as much as we did, which says a lot! It was the perfect mix of thrill, learning, and family fun. If you’re looking for a charter that delivers big catches, amazing memories, and an all-around incredible time, Reel Time Fishing is the one to book. We can’t recommend them highly enough and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Everyone reeled in a fish!

When you go fishing all you can do is hope to reel one in! We are a family of 4 and everyone reeled in 3+ fish each in a four hour window. Now that is amazing. Josh and Captian Turk knew how to find them and work hard to make this trip amazing. I booked this trip for my husband for Father's day and he said it was the best Father's day yet. I couldn't agree more. Thank you for an awesome day full of fish, great coversation and beautiful views.

Amazing atmosphere!

Incredible time! Always swapping it up, we constantly had fish on the lines, and if there was ever a moment we’re we weren’t getting constant bites, they’d find another spot to hit and snag more! Captain Andrew, and his crew Josh were easy to talk too, and salt of the earth good people, would definitely suggest and will book again with them!

Coho stood no chance!

My girlfriend and I had a great time fishing with Captain Turk. I've been fishing my whole life but it was her first time. Turk told us about the area, his interest in conservation, co-existing, and respecting the wildlife in the area. We had 5 bites and got to keep 2 cohos. The second one I caught was big and made for a delicious dinner. If you're looking for a great day of fishing as a couple, you've come to the right spot. Thanks again, Captain Turk!
