Rincon has a fish with your name on it, so let Makaira Sportfishing help you catch it!

Wahoo, Kingfish, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Blackfin Tuna, Yellowtail Snapper, Mahi Mahi, and more are in the cards if conditions are right. Trolling, live baiting, and bottom fishing are available, as well as snorkel trips combined with fishing. Your trip can be customized to include everything you desire. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that’s dinner!

Your boat for the day is a 35' Contender, tournament-rigged, with room for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work. The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

Makaira Sportfishing welcomes anglers of all ages, including kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available. Don't leave home without snacks, sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Soft drinks and water will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation. Just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Now, come aboard with Makaira Sportfishing and get hooked! Get in touch with the charter to set up custom trips.

Enjoyable fishing trip

Rincon is interesting in that there isn’t a true marina to meet and board the boat. We met the Captain at the public boat launch and climbed the bot ladder into the boat and the Captain launched the boat into the water. The Captain was punctual and professional and first mate was engaging and efficient. It’s a bit of a longer trip than many as you leave first to catch your bait. It’s fun watching the first mate toss the cast net and drag in nets of bait. First time I’ve seen that. We went out fishing and were a bit ghosted by the fish. We were cold so tried a second location and were dry there too. Tried a third spot and hit on some fish. We landed a small tuna, the first mate landed a bigger tuna on a hand line. We had a few lines snap. We could see the fish, just couldn’t get them in the boat. At the end of the tour we did some tarpon fishing while the first mate cleaned the fish. They put up a great fight and everyone was able to catch a fish (but you don’t keep tarpon). We had a good time and wouldn’t hesitate to fish with this boat and crew again. I’d love to have tried a couple different methods of fishing to try to land some more fish but we ate well with the tuna we caught. Thanks for the memories!

Great Trip. 1000% recommendation to anyone thinking to fish out of Rincon

VERIFIED

This was an amazing trip. It was my son's (11) first trip in the ocean. Capitan Pepi and his mate were both very patient with him. They explained things and were understanding when he made mistakes when he got excited. Capitan put us on the fish very early and we caught so many fish it was non-stop for awhile. Took home enough fish to have some great dinner and froze some to fly back home with us. Capitan explained some of the question I might get at the airport from Dept. of Ag. so there were no issues at the airport. Thank you Capitan Pepi and crew so much for making this the highlight of our trip to PR. We will absolutely book again if we come back to PR.

This was an amazing fishing trip! Captain Pepi and Jose were knowledgable and helpful to our crew, most of whom never fished on a boat before. They knew where all the fishing holes were. We caught king mackerel and black fin tuna. They even recommended a restaurant that cooked some of the fish for lunch-there was more fish than we could even eat. Highly recommend them! 10/10!! Thanks again for a very cool experience!

AN AMAZING MORNING!!

VERIFIED

A beautiful clear morning, very little wind and very calm water. About 45mins in and we hooked our first of 5 barracudas. Didn’t keep them, but they were a lot of fun to catch. About 2hrs in we hooked our best catch… 45-50lbs wahoo. That fish was a beast. It took two of us to pull that big boy into the boat. Captain and first mate were great. Very knowledgeable and did their very best to put us in the best spot to get some fish. We had wahoo for supper and it was amazing! Thanks captain & first mate! God bless you both!
