Captain Ed’s Family Fishing & Nature Charter is exactly what it says in the name. Setting out of Cocoa Beach, Florida, you’ll get to experience the incredible inshore fishing opportunities year-round, while you wonder at the outstanding nature in the preserves along the creeks and rivers. Captain Ed has been fishing these waters since the ‘70s, and can’t wait to welcome you aboard to provide a tailored trip.
Step aboard a 23’ Hurricane, powered by a 150 HP Yamaha engine. She has been deliberately designed to drift along the tops of the skinny waters. With the aid of a GPS and fishfinder, you’ll get to the sweetest spots with ease, and you can start to make the most of your day. While the boat can take up to 12 people, Captain Ed doesn’t do trips with more than 6 people because he wants to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible.
Fishing in this part of Florida is healthy all year, so don’t worry about waiting for the right time to book. Whether it’s chumming for Sharks, or just some traditional light tackle action for Redfish, Black Drum, or Jack Crevalle, you’re covered. You’ll get to use top of the range Penn and Shakespeare Ugly Stik rods and reels, along with terminal tackle, artificial lures, and ready-prepared live bait, so you’ll have the best chance of attracting a big one.
Upon returning to shore, the captain will clean your fish for you to take home for a well-earned meal. Just make sure to pack some food and drinks, and bring a pair of sunglasses. Free parking can be found near the dock, so you’re good to go. Capt. 5 hour Adventure
More Than Just Fishing!
We spent a great day on the water with Captain Ed! He was very responsive with our questions prior to the trip and he gave us great directions. We arrived a little late but our trip was the full 5 hrs. Captain Ed was great with my two children, 13 and 9. He was very knowledgeable and shared many cool facts about the area! The time at the sand bar looking for shells was so fun! I would highly recommend this trip if you are looking for a family adventure with so much more than just fishing!

Excellent trip for families!
We had a really good day on the water with Captain Ed. We got to see manatees, dolphins, a gator, and all sorts of birds. Captain Ed is very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the area in general, and he is a patient teacher with less experience anglers. I highly recommend this trip for anyone looking for a combination nature tour and fishing trip. The novice fishermen especially enjoyed the wildlife viewing.

Great experience
We enjoyed our trip taking in the sites and learning about the area. We were able to catch several fish. Unfortunately no keepers for taking home but had fun regardless. We saw manatees, dolphins, stingrays and lots of jellyfish. We would book with Captain Ed again.

VERY Family friendly!!
The grandsons. Ages 9 & 11, enjoyed their day with Caption Ed! When I asked them about the review the both said to give him the highest marks possible!! They enjoyed catching fish, playing on the rope swing and exploring the areas terrain and wildlife!!!!!!
