Sheriff Charters will take you on a trip you'll never forget around Montague Island, NSW. Come aboard with an experienced and knowledgeable crew who will help you explore endless opportunities. Be it game and sport fishing, reef fishing, or indulging in the beauty of nature, there is something for everyone in these crystal blue waters!
Come aboard 'The Sheriff', a spacious 36' aluminium charter vessel.This boat is fitted with everything you need, from advanced fishing technology to outriggers and a fighting chair. A toilet on board allows you to fish all day without sacrificing your comfort. There is room on board for 6 maximum for fishing charters, and 12 for island trips, whale watching and snorkelling. Children of all ages are welcome.
While aboard The Sheriff, you can enjoy the awesome fishing and spectacular wildlife of Narooma, Montague Island, and surrounding waters. Narooma is home to some of the best game fishing in the world. From here, you will be able to target a wide variety of species, fishing the reefs close to shore or chasing a big catch along the continental shelf just a little more than 12 miles (20 km) away. You can enjoy outstanding deep sea fishing in these waters all year round.
While fishing the reefs closest to shore you will find Flathead, a delicious local favorite. The reefs farther out host Snapper, Perch, Morwong, and many other kinds of table fish. On the other hand, you can target some of the most prestigious pelagic fish in the Southern Ocean, including many kinds of Tuna, Blue, Black, and Striped Marlin, Mahi Mahi, and more.
Sheriff Charters provides a fishing license and all fishing gear. For King fishing and reef fishing, the crew provides Shimano Spheros spinning reels. When it comes to Game Fishing, they use world class Shimano Tiagra reels. You may keep your catch and it will be cleaned for you.

We did well considering the amount of other boats out there as well. For the first hour and a half we were followed by a group of three or four other boats whom were interested in learning from the charter what to do it seemed. I would go back out with this boat and crew again.

George and Mark were very kind and had a nice chat with you taking you to different places to do some fishing. I mean, it does sound like that's what they're supposed to do, but The Sheriff seemed to give you a different feeling of the captain and first mate wanting you to catch fish. To top it off, they were very kind and offerred tea and coffee and about half way into the trip we even got a lovely baked cake to help us through the rest of the trip. Despite the small size of holding only 8 guests, it was spacious enough allowing everyone to fish with a comfortable distance between each other. Will definitely book again next time I am in Narooma
