River Trek Guide Service invites you to experience river fishing at its finest on the rivers of West Michigan. Based in the Grand Rapids area, but we also fish Muskegon, Newaygo and Ludington areas. We take you to whatever river is fishing best. Guide Steve Campbell is a native of Michigan and a man who has spent a lifetime fishing the local riverways. Steve welcomes beginners and experienced anglers on his guided river fishing trips.
The rivers of West Michigan are abundant with fish species throughout the year, so whichever season you choose to go out a catch is almost guaranteed. The rivers you can visit include the Grand, Muskegon, Pere Marquette, Manistee, and St. Mary's Rivers. Steve will be able to out you on King Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead, Brown Trout, and Smallmouth Bass among other species.
Fishing is done aboard an 18' Alumaweld Jet boat originally built in 2012 with a capacity for up to three guests. Powered by a 115 HP Yamaha engine, this jet boat is excellent for the riverways of Michigan. It features a wireless trolling motor to allow you to access the very shallow parts quietly and without disturbing the fish.
The vessel also features a GPS and fishfinder used to locate the best fishing spots, fly fishing equipment, and life jackets for adults. If you plan on bringing your child along, please make sure you bring a life jacket to fit your child's weight.
River Trek Guide Service provides quality gear for your use that includes Penn and Shimano reels, Loomis, Lamiglas, and St Croix rods, a variety of tackle, lures, and live bait. You will need to obtain a fishing license, for regulations check out the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. You are advised to wear warm clothes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat.

My son and I had a great time fishing the Muskegon River with Captain Steve. We caught plenty of small mouth. He knew right where to go to catch them. Captain Steve is a great guy and would highly recommend him for your next fishing charter.

Captain Scott was a pleasure to fish with. From the moment we stepped on the boat he was kind and inviting. He puts you on the fish and makes the trip fun while your doing it. We caught steelhead, rainbows, and brown trout. I cant wait to do it again!
We booked this trip for my son’s 13th birthday. It was 100% money well spent. Steve was a great guide. Super patient and knowledgeable. My son is a fisherman and I am a novice. Steve helped us to figure out where the fish were biting and how to fish them. He helped us out of about 150 snags during our six hour excursion. That day was super easy and super relaxed. We want to go back already!
We were so lucky to have Steve as our Captain. His knowledge of the river and where the fish were, coupled with his sense of humour and a lifetime of fishing knowledge meant that we had a really great trip. Two of our party had never fished before but thanks to Steve, they became very proficient and caught lots of fish! Thanks Steve😁
This trip was a 75th birthday gift for my dad. It was the first time any of us had fished on a river and Captain Steve made it a great experience. My dad caught a fish on his first cast! We caught several fish and Captain Steve kept us rigged with gear and kept moving to where the fish were.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 30 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
