Step aboard a 21’ Cobia powered by a 150 HP Yamaha engine. This craft is fitted with the latest fishing technology, including GPS, fishfinder, and a live bait well. Up to four passengers can cast lines comfortably aboard the spacious deck.
Capt. Buddy will have bait in the live well and top of the line gear ready on board when you arrive. You will have your choice of custom rods, Star Rods, and Orvis rods, complemented by an array of reels by Penn, Shimano, Ovris, STH, and Gold Cup.
Capt. Buddy keeps his equipment in top condition. He sharpens his fish hooks daily and constantly re-spools his fishing line to eliminate line breaks. Rest assured your fishing experience will go as smoothly as possible.
While fishing inshore and nearshore you can catch a wide variety of species, from delicious Snapper to daunting specimens such as Bull Shark, Barracuda, and Tarpon. Capt. Buddy will help you target your catch using the most effective method, whether it’s spin or fly fishing. Fly rods are provided, or you are welcome to bring your own.
Captain Buddy LaPointe supplies everything you need, including fishing gear, bait, and fishing licenses. Depending on the species, you are welcome to keep your catch and he will fillet and bag it for you, too.

Half Day Trip (AM) on February 27, 2025
Our experience with Captain Buddy started before we boarded. We saw a manatee and a heron and he told us with information about them. After we boarded, we went to a spot and caught approximately 15 Spanish Mackeral. While there we saw a large turtle swimming. We went to a different location and caught several snapper, then fished for shark. We caught 2 Lemon shark. On the way in, we saw several dolphins, one of which had a baby. Captain Buddy was kind, informative and instructional. We highly recommend him!

BEST fishing guide!!

Our fishing trip with Captain Buddy was by far the BEST fishing trip we have ever taken. Capt Buddy was patient, super knowledgeable, and so much fun to be with!! He was also extremely accommodating and went out of his way to make our trip a memorable one. While Capt Buddy was helping my husband during his first costal fly fishing experience, he set me up on a spinning reel. My husband and I were both catching fishing very frequently. We were able to land barracuda, bonefish, and sand perch. Capt Buddy also coached us through our first tarpon fishing experience. We can’t say enough great things about Capt Buddy and we will definitely book with him again next year.

3/4 Day Trip on March 21, 2025
We caught nine different species of fish. We were catching as soon as we threw the first line over. Ending up releasing a shark and a barracuda. We did walk away with 18 Red Snappers. The only thing we missed out on bucket list was a tarpon but maybe the next time. Highly recommend Capt Buddy for your fishing charter.

He is professional, courteous, and dedicated to showing his clients a great time on the water!
