YB Normal is docked in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, ready and waiting to take groups out for a great day on the water. Captain Vinnie offers a range of trips, with four to eight-hour packages and the choice of coming as a group or jumping aboard a shared charter. With this many options, there is no excuse not to go fishing!

The YB Normal is a 43’ Torres sportfishing boat which has seen regular maintenance since the day she was built and makes for the perfect place for groups of six anglers enjoy a great day’s fishing. She has a comfortable, air-conditioned interior with a bathroom, galley, and plenty of space to relax in between bites.

She is also loaded with a literal boatload of equipment and tech to make sure you get some great catches. The latest electronics from Garmin and Furuno will sound out the deep and have you always fishing in the right spot. Outriggers and downriggers will maximize your spread and target species, and a fighting chair will let you hold your own against whatever you hook.

What you target will depend on the trip you choose. Half day charters will mainly drift and bottom fish around local reefs, targeting bottom species as well as a few fast-moving fish like King Mackerel and Bonito. Full and ¾ days can have you targeting anything from Tilefish to Sailfish, depending on what you want to get out of your trip.

Want to beat the heat and get some awesome catches while you do so? Book in for a nighttime Snapper charter, anchoring over local reefs as the sun goes down to target the big Yellowtail, Mangrove, and Mutton Snapper which come out after dark.

Whatever you do, you are in for a great time, with an experienced captain, quality equipment, and a whole ocean of awesome fish just waiting for someone to drop a hook in front of them. It might as well be you, right?

Captain Vinnie operates the YB Normal out of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and has worked aboard other boats in the area all his life. He loves being out on the water and getting groups on awesome fish. His favorite fish to catch is Black Grouper, but a huge part of what makes fishing so fun for him is never knowing what is going to bite next. This is what makes bottom fishing so fun for him - you can never tell what will take your bait!

The Fishing Is HOT In Fort Lauderdale
The Fishing Is HOT In Fort Lauderdale
July 24, 2021
Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here hope everyone is doing well, this week we have a great report with lots of great fishing action happening in the Fort Lauderdale area. Just like the title says the fishing is HOT!! This week we are going to start offshore, the main target as of late has been mahi mahi or dolphin. Dolphin are one of the prettiest fish that you can catch off the coast of fort Lauderdale as well as great table fair for dinner, they are hard fighters and very acrobatic as well. This week has been a great week for mahi with lots of fish being caught. The fish have been somewhat further offshore then normal so you will need at least a 6 hour charter but I recommend an 8 hour charter for mahi this time to year, sometimes it takes a while to find them so the extra time of an 8 hour charter can make a big difference. Most of the mahi we have been catching have been very nice sized and averaging around 7-10lbs. We had our best luck finding birds diving on small baitfish as well as finding floating objects like a bucket or floating bamboo or even larger patches of seaweed, as long as there are baitfish the mahi will be close by. Also while offshore there has been some skipjack and blackfin tuna, both are great fighters and taste excellent, Another fish that has been caught this week and very sought after is the wahoo, they have been biting offshore as well as inshore, trolling planners to get baits down to the depths wahoo feed is important seawitches with bonito strips has been the most effective. Moving inshore towards the edge of the reef, king mackeral have been prevolent as well as lots and lots of bonito. Shark fishing has been good as well if your looking to pull on something large that will test your strength. This week has been some great fishing and plenty options of different species to target if you stay inshore or you go offshore. Make sure to check our pictures out this week with some of the great catches we had on our recent deep sea fishing charters right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. If your coming down to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing now is a great time it doesn't get much better then this, coming up we have some availability and would love to have you come out fishing with us, anyways remember to follow us on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook at @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing reports and pictures. Mahi Mahi Are In Fort Lauderdale
Mahi Mahi Are In Fort Lauderdale
July 15, 2021
Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here hope everyone is doing well! As the report title says mahi mahi are here in Fort Lauderdale finally after a somewhat long wait the dolphin fishing has been red hot off the coast of Fort Lauderdale so lets get right into it, Dolphin have been plentiful and very good size as of late the fish have been averaging around 10lbs, mahi are a great fighting fish as well as some of the best table fair that you can get, they also are very acrobatic with lots of great jumps and beautiful colors whats not to love right. The mahi have been somewhat further offshore this week so the ideal trip would be an 8 hour deep sea fishing charter because the extra time helps you get way offshore into the gulfstream waters if need be to find the fish. The fish we have been finding this week have been on a variety of different things the most consistent has been birds, finding birds offshore is a great way to tell you that there is life around in the area, birds have a better vantage point to locate fish due to them being higher up in the sky and having more range of vision to locate feeding fish, finding a flock of feeding birds near the surface is a great sign that a bite is coming soon, also this week we did finding a floating palm tree when offshore looking for mahi and something floating is always a great way to locate mahi offshore as well, floating objects hold bait which mahi feed on, so if you locate something floating and it has baitfish on it the predators are not far behind. The best depth this week on the dolphin has been anywhere from 800-1000 feet of water off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. Moving inshore the reef has been somewhat productive with super hungry bonito almost every morning eating anything in there way. Also kingfish have been biting as well and some larger size ones also, some days in the early mornings and late afternoons blackfin tuna as well have been making an appearance, All in all fishing this week has been red hot with a variety of different species to target, as far as best baits or lures this week goes when offshore targeting mahi mahi, fresh rigged ballyhoo, as well as mylar sea witches rigged with bonito strips has been a deadly combination, inshore small squid lures have been best for the bonito and the tuna, the kingfish have been feeding under the surface and planners are going to be the best bet to take baits under the surface for them. This week has been a busy one but we have some great photos this week of some awesome recent catches aboard the YB Normal so please make sure to check those out, We have some availability next week some if your in the Fort Lauderdale area and looking to do some deep sea fishing now is a great time! As always remember to follow us on social media platforms like instagram and facebook @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing videos and pictures. Tight lines Capt. Vinnie .....more later
Big Game Fishing in Fort Lauderdale
Big Game Fishing in Fort Lauderdale
July 6, 2021
Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here, this week has been a busy one but I want to first wish everyone a happy fourth of July hopefully it was a great one! this week like the title says big game fishing in Fort Lauderdale is what this weeks report is all about, this week we have been having some large fish moving through Fort Lauderdale, fishing for sharks has been excellent this week with all different types of species biting some bigger then others of course but all sizes are a lot of fun. This week we have been starting out our deep sea fishing trips on the troll which seems to have the best steady action, fishing with planners to take bait deep under the surface as been somewhat the most productive way recently, plenty of little tunny or bonito have been around and they are hungry, not such great table fare but they are a great gamefish if your looking for a fight boy do they pull and they usually run in schools so most likely when hooking one there is a chance to double up if you have multiple lines out there as well, mixed in with the bonito has been a few king mackeral which have been a little on the larger size around 10lb average or so which is great size for eating as well as putting up a fight. A few blackfin tuna are around as well on the smaller size but still great for sushi. As we move offshore there are mahi mahi offshore but you do need a longer trip to get out there to target them, they have been moving through pretty steady and larger in size then recent reports, also very important to find patches of seaweed or something floating to locate these fish or you will have a tough time getting a bite. For the theme of the report like I said earlier plenty of big game sharks have been around and after trolling we have been using the bonito we have been catching as fresh bait in order to entice a shark, the sharks can not be taken to eat but they are a great fish to catch and will test you as an angler for sure, hammerhead sharks have been the most common as of recent but we have been catching some sandbar, silky, and bull sharks as well too so nice variety on that, this time of year is one of my favorites to fish so if your in town its a great time to get out deep sea fishing lots of variety and calm winds and seas. If your looking to get out deep sea fishing in the month of July we have availability and would love to have you!! This weeks report has some great pictures of some sea monsters we recently caught on some of our deep sea fishing charters so be sure to check those out as well and remember to follow us on facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing videos and pictures... Tight lines Capt. Vinnie more later.....
