YB Normal is docked in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, ready and waiting to take groups out for a great day on the water. Captain Vinnie offers a range of trips, with four to eight-hour packages and the choice of coming as a group or jumping aboard a shared charter. With this many options, there is no excuse not to go fishing!

The YB Normal is a 43’ Torres sportfishing boat which has seen regular maintenance since the day she was built and makes for the perfect place for groups of six anglers enjoy a great day’s fishing. She has a comfortable, air-conditioned interior with a bathroom, galley, and plenty of space to relax in between bites.

She is also loaded with a literal boatload of equipment and tech to make sure you get some great catches. The latest electronics from Garmin and Furuno will sound out the deep and have you always fishing in the right spot. Outriggers and downriggers will maximize your spread and target species, and a fighting chair will let you hold your own against whatever you hook.

What you target will depend on the trip you choose. Half day charters will mainly drift and bottom fish around local reefs, targeting bottom species as well as a few fast-moving fish like King Mackerel and Bonito. Full and ¾ days can have you targeting anything from Tilefish to Sailfish, depending on what you want to get out of your trip.

Want to beat the heat and get some awesome catches while you do so? Book in for a nighttime Snapper charter, anchoring over local reefs as the sun goes down to target the big Yellowtail, Mangrove, and Mutton Snapper which come out after dark.

Whatever you do, you are in for a great time, with an experienced captain, quality equipment, and a whole ocean of awesome fish just waiting for someone to drop a hook in front of them. It might as well be you, right?

Captain Vinnie operates the YB Normal out of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and has worked aboard other boats in the area all his life. He loves being out on the water and getting groups on awesome fish. His favorite fish to catch is Black Grouper, but a huge part of what makes fishing so fun for him is never knowing what is going to bite next. This is what makes bottom fishing so fun for him - you can never tell what will take your bait!

Fantastic Bottom Fishing In Fort Lauderd
Fantastic Bottom Fishing In Fort Lauderd
November 28, 2022
Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here...This week the fishing in Fort Lauderdale has been spectacular, specially the bottom fishing which I will get to shortly. Starting off on the inshore side of things there has been some early morning kingfish on the reefs edge, trolling is normally a great way to catch these guys but live bait has been a better option, slow trolling live baits on the reefs edge with wire rigs has been a very good choice to entice these fish. A few sailfish are starting to move through the area right now but I would expect to see a better showing as we get closer to the end of the year. On the offshore side of things there has been a few mahi mahi around if you can find something floating offshore thats going to be the golden ticket, also right now there has been some wahoo on the floating debris that you finding mahi under, for the wahoo your going to want to fish bait that you can take under the surface, that will put you right in the strike zone. Swordfishing remains strong right now and now is definitely a great time to get out there to target a trophy or bucket list fish. Bottom fishing this week has been amazing, the deeper waters off the coast of Fort Lauderdale have been loaded with a bunch of snappers and some groupers. We have been fishing structure as deep as 500 feet of water. We have been catching some red snapper lately which is a rare species for our area so catching one of those is always a nice surprise. Majority of the bottom fishing caught this week has been vermillion snapper which is a great eating fish and fun to catch, also we have been getting some porgy, as well as snowy grouper one of my favorite to eat. Some of the local shipwrecks off the coast of Fort Lauderdale have been having some large amberjack too, which are super hard fighters and will test you as an angler. I have some great pictures this week of some great catches caught aboard our deep sea fishing charters out of fort Lauderdale so please be sure to check them out. Also remember to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. This week we are taking the YB Normal out of the water for some yearly maintenance and we will be back in about a week or so, but we are still accepting reservations for the month of December which is a great time to do some deep sea fishing if your coming to fort lauderdale on vacation. Capt. Vinnie More later....

November Bottom Fishing In Fort Lauderda
November Bottom Fishing In Fort Lauderda
November 18, 2022
Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here, this week the weather has been much better so I have a much more detailed and better report for you guys, it been a super fun week with great fishing and even better people... This week the weather has been fantastic calm winds and seas making it a real joy to be out on the water, the trolling this week has been somewhat hit and miss earlier in the week there has been a few mahi mahi just on the edge of the reef lots of floating debris from the recent hurricane that just missed us, floating pieces of seaweed or garbage has been key to finding some nice sized mahi, also on the floating debris there has been a good amount of wahoo mostly under 10lbs but still an awesome fish to catch and not to mention eat! In the late afternoons we are starting to see some tuna action, mostly skipjack tuna feeding on bait, smaller lures are the best for them as they say you want to match the hatch so you want to troll something on the small size in order to mimic what they are eating. Swordfish still remains super strong right now and should remain very good until the end of February definitely a great time to catch a fish of a lifetime if that is something that is on your bucket list. This week the bottom fishing has been just plain outstanding the great weather conditions we have had this week definitely help to pin point certain spots specially deeper spots as deep as 500 feet. Lots of really nice sized snappers being caught and a quite a bit of grouper too. Mostly vermillion snapper up to 3lbs which is a great size for this species, as well as a few yellow eye snapper, XL trigger fish this week as well and we have been catching a few red snapper which is a rare fish for our area. Grouper wise we have been getting a good amount of snowy grouper as well as a few scamp grouper. All these fish have 1 great thing in common they all are fantastic to eat, white flakey meat which can be cooked pretty much anyway you can imagine. Wreck fishing for amberjacks has been good as well, but remember with these guys live bait is a must. Great fishing all around this week and like I said earlier the weather couldn't get any better. Be sure this week to check out some of our great photos of some recent catches caught during our deep sea fishing charters and remember to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram for daily fishing content. We have some cooler weather moving in this week which should bring in some sailfish action possibly some mahi too so be on the look out for a new report.......... more later Capt. Vinnie

Windy Windy Windy In Fort Lauderdale
Windy Windy Windy In Fort Lauderdale
November 10, 2022
Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, this week due to the heavy winds of hurricane Nicole we were not able to get out fishing as much as we would have liked but we did get a few trips in just before the blow. For the report this week I could say that the sailfish action is defiantly picking up and should only get better as we approach more of our winter months here in Fort Lauderdale. Trolling this week was productive with some nice catches of wahoo and mahi mahi. Just before and after a full moon specially in winter time months is always a fantastic time to go on the troll for species like wahoo. The mahi fishing has been very steady as of late and should continue to be good for about a week or so after storms like this one pass. Floating debris is always going to be the best thing to look for but weed lines and birds are always a great sign as well. Trolling ballyhoo as well as fresh bonito strips and seawitches is always a great combo to get some bites. Unfortunately this week I do not have a bottom fishing report due to the heavy winds and larger seas makes it very hard to stay in one spot to drop a line to the bottom, but when it calms down I would imagine that the bottom fishing is going to be red hot it usually always is just after a storm. Anyways I have a few photos of some recent fish caught during our deep sea fishing charters so check those out, Also remember to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfising for daily fishing content. The weather is calming as I type this report and the weekend and next week look to have great weather to get out deep sea fishing in Fort Lauderdale the bite should be red hot, so if your coming down to Fort Lauderdale now would be a great time to get out and do some deep sea fishing! More later... Capt. Vinnie
