Jim Adams Guide Service
Jim Adams Guide Service invites you on a fishing trip out of Port Aransas. Year-round, these trips will take you exploring the inshore waters of Texas’ praised waterways. Whether it’s Speckled Trout, Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, or Mutton Snapper, here you will have a chance to get them! These trips work well with hardcore fishermen and families with kids alike.
Your captain for the day is Jim Adams. He’s a retired federal firefighter and started running charters before his retirement. Why? As Jim himself says - ‘Even though I have always loved to fish, I have found that I enjoy seeing the thrill of others catch a fish just as much. Teaching children a love of the sport is important to me also.’
Captain Jim will welcome you aboard his 25’ LaFitte Skiff style bay boat. She was restored in 2017 and comes equipped with a 250 HP Yamaha engine. The boat can take up to six anglers. If you’re bringing kids along, the captain has life vests for them on the boat. The boat will take you around flats, inshore, and nearshore waters and is equipped with necessities for your trip. The vessel carries Penn fishing gear as well.
When you’re packing for the trip, you should bring food, beverages, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a camera. All the standard fishing gear is waiting for you onboard. Please remember to bring a valid Texas fishing license. The captain will normally fish for live bait before the trip, but in case you join him fishing for the bait, he will extend your trip. You can get your fish cleaned at the dock, for 50 cents per pound. And, if you want to try some bow fishing - it’s possible to do so during summer, when fishing for Black Drum. Just remember to bring the gear.
Once you’re good to go, get your friends and come enjoy your day on the water!
