Capt. Moke grew up fishing these waters. He has been fishing with success for trophy Walleye for over four decades and has what it takes to put you on fish. In 2017, Captain Moke won the well-known Cabela’s National Walleye Tour Tournament on Lake Erie. Plus, he has worked as a firefighter and a paramedic veteran. Your safety is his top priority, so if you have kids, they’re more than welcome to join the chase.
Your vessel for the day is a 21’ Ranger boat that can take up to three people. The boat was built in 2015 and is equipped with two 225 HP Evinrude engines. The vessel is fitted with navigational electronics, including GPS and a fishfinder. Onboard, you will also find an ice box, live well, trolling motor, and safety gear. The boat stores an assortment of rods, reels, and tackle by Domka Outdoors, Bay Rat lures, and Denali Rods. The captain is also sponsored by Gill Rainwear and Worldwide Marine Insurance.
The trips with Capt. Moke are private charters and work best with smaller groups of fishermen. The captain runs a lot of father-son trips, and provides discount for veterans on half day trips. His departure times are flexible and he will adjust the schedule to meet your needs.
You will find all the fishing gear on the boat. You do however need to purchase the Ohio fishing license before the trip. No hard liquor is allowed onboard, but canned beer is ok. Bring along a cooler with ice and to have storage space for your catch after the trip. Also make sure to bring rain gear, a jacket, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. You will definitely want to bring a camera to make a good shot of your catch. If you’re prone to seasickness, you may want to consider taking meds accordingly.
