Aquatica Fishing Charters
Aquatica Fishing Charters runs fishing trips out of Malta. If you want to get top predators of the Mediterranean or fish for bottom table fare around the reefs and ledges, this crew of local fishermen has exactly that. All it takes is to come along and the skippers will make sure you have all the gear you need and will take you where the fish are.
Your vessel for the day is a 33’ Targa boat that is powered by a 250 HP Volvo Penta engine. The boat is big enough to let up to eight anglers hop on and sample these fisheries with enough elbow room. The vessel is equipped with GPS, a fishfinder, has a all the safety gear, features a toilet, and carries a selection of rods, reels, and tackle. There is an ice box onboard where you can store the fish.
Trips with Aquatica run year round and will see you fishing near the reefs and far offshore. The distance you travel will depend on the fish you want to catch, the weather, and the type of trip. If you’re after Dorado and Albacore that you’ll need to travel about 10-20 miles to get them, but some days will bring the fish much closer to the shore. Or, you can even head to the other side of the island for maximum results.
You will be trolling and bottom fishing. Dead bait is readily available before the trip, but sometimes you might catch live fresh bait during the trip to have the best chances of landing a trophy size predator. Skippers Chris and Daryl will take a good care of you and your party. They know these waters extremely well and will make sure you have superb fishing.
As for the trip, wear non-slip rubber sole shoes. As weather can change, it’s best to bring a jacket and a long pair of trousers, and dress in layers. Make sure to bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen. Pack a camera as you’ll want to get a good angle of your catch. All fuel, permit, skipper fees, fishing tackle, bait, drinks are included in the trip prices.

Amazing 5hr trip - everyone caught something
Daryl was brilliant from start to finish. We were an inexperienced group and he made a great effort to explain what he was doing and why he was doing it, such as choosing the spot, and which lines we were using to target which species. We had a fighter get away from us, but then went to a reef and did some spinning and caught loads of little fish, like trigger fish, razer fish and seabream. He helped each of us get the technique right, and by the end we walked away with a bag full enough for dinner. We would absolutely love to go out again with Daryl - so hope to return to Malta soon! Highly recommend :)

Wonderful trip! Highly recommend!
Our guide was excellent in communicating via the FishingBooker app and was flexible on timing for our adventure. He was kind, patient and knowledgable and we caught over 20 small fish. We had two kids with us (age 9 and 11) and he ensured that they caught several and was very conscious of safety and fun. The area itself just gorgeous and the boat and equipment were all well kept and nice! We had a fantastic time and I would highly recommend this to anyone! Getting to the pier from the cruise ship dock was challenging as the long line of taxi's off the ship only wanted to offer tours so this was an unexpected stressor. The walk to the pier is lovely but takes ~45 minutes. I would advise a bit more pre-planning than I did on this if you are a cruise passenger! Certainly not anything to do with the wonderful fishing adventure but a smooth transfer from ship to pier will hopefully enhance your experience.

Amazing Fishing Trip
It is a very PERFECT experience! We began at 7:00 in the morning and the Captain take us to the fishing point and all of us four guys catch our first fish so smoothly and the fishes are colourfuf and cute ，and the luckiest is we catch Tuna finally! A big tuna!It's so excited for us! The captain named Daryl is a handsome and very experienced fishingman!And he is very nice and patient. He help us baited the fishing rods sooo many times and tell us how to do is easy to catch the fish，and he is very thoughful!!he cantacted our hotel's stuff to let the kitchen to cook the big tuna for us!And we really had a yummy lunch with our harvest !

Fun Fishing
The captain called it “fun fishing”. We vent to a reef and spent time catching various small fish, endlessly. It was a short, 4 hour, trip. Nice time on the water with a magnificent Malta backdrop. Turns out, for a serious fishing trip, and serious fish, you have to book an 8 hour trip and leave by 6 AM, which would have been impossible with our family under circumstances. So we are happy with what we got. The captain was very nice as a person, kids would love to have a grandpa like him.

Unforgettable fishing experience
Fantastic first-time fishing experience! The captain showed us various fishing techniques and made sure we had a fulfilling fishing time. We caught a beautiful tuna and many small cambers and wrasses. Friendly captain, well equipped boat, thoughtful explanations, delightful catch... the entire experience was unforgettable. Furthermore, our captain took really nice pictures for us - great asset we highly appreciate 😉 We definitely recommend this experience to everyone!
