Alaskan Adventure Guides invites you to visit the “Halibut Fishing Capital of the World.” Of course, there’s more to Homer, Alaska, than just Halibut. Captain Corey can take you fishing for any species that calls these waters some, and you’ll get to see some beautiful scenery and wildlife along the way.

You will be fishing aboard a 32’ Pro Apollo that comes with a pair of 300 HP Suzuki engines. It’s equipped with all the necessary safety and navigation gear that you need for a safe trip. There’s plenty of space on the boat for up to six people to fish in comfort, so you don’t need to worry about being cramped.

While fishing in Homer is great anywhere you go, Captain Corey will take you to the best spots that are some 30-50 miles out. These include Chugach and Barren Islands, and you might go a bit further out if the weather calls for it. Species like Halibut, Lingcod, Rockfish and Salmon are all there for you to catch. Corey himself likes to use jigs, and will be happy to show you how to do it yourself.

The price of any given trip will include all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you need for a good time. Make sure to have a valid Alaska fishing license with you, and feel free to bring drinks or snacks if you’re feeling like it. After you’re done, the crew will clean and fillet your catch so you don’t have to.

Alaska Fishing Done Right — Captain’s Skills and Deckhand Charm
9 Hour Trip – Ultimate Combo Shared on September 1, 20252 adults
Our trip with Alaskan Adventure Guides on the Sea Hunter was one for the books. The weather threw everything at us — fog, wind, chop, and rain — but Captain Cory still put us right on the fish and got us our limit. That guy really knows his stuff. But honestly, the highlight for me was Rachel, the deckhand. She had everything dialed in — rods set up, lines baited, fish filleted like it was nothing. She knows her way around those Alaska waters. On top of all that, she kept everyone laughing with her fishing dad jokes, which might’ve been what really hooked me. Here’s one back at her “Why don’t fish play basketball? Because they’re afraid of the net.” Between Cory running the boat and Rachel keeping things fun, it was hands down one of the best fishing trips I’ve been on. I’ll definitely be booking with them again.

Knowledgeable Captain and First Mate
9 Hour Trip – Ultimate Combo Shared on June 23, 20251 adult
Capt. Corey and First Mate Rachel provided an enjoyable and successful trip with the boat limiting out on halibut and rock-fish with an additional catch of cod to everyone's satisfaction. Corey works hard getting you on the fish. While most boats don't travel as far as the Barren Islands, perhaps due to the cost of fuel, that's where we caught our larger halibut limiting out quickly. We could hear other captain's chatter on the radio and the boats we heard were getting "Skunked". One captain of a large party boat said he had 16 fisherman on board and one halibut. I hope fishing picked up for them. To the best of my knowledge no other boats came out to the Barrens that day except a couple of boats that were anchored in the area when we arrived. We kept our First Mate Rachel busy and she could not have been better prepared for the task. Thank you to Corey and Rachel for a great day on the water! If I return next summer I'll be fishing with Corey and hopefully Rachel if they're available. They a productive team!

We went out when most stayed in - and it paid off!
8 Hour Trip–Halibut/Rockfish Shared on June 1, 20252 adults
The weather forecast looked terrible but the Capt asked us if we wanted to stick our noses in it and see if we could catch some fish. A lot of boats stayed in the harbor but we and a few others got out. We got on a mess of cod early then went to find halibut. After getting our limit of halibut we went back and picked up a few more cod before the wind picked up. On the way back, we stopped to troll for salmon. A small electrical issue had to be fixed for one of the down riggers but we were trolling in no time and got a few pink and king salmon before calling it a day. Capt and a first mate were very communicative and willing to do what we wanted while giving us their opinion of the conditions. One of the best fishing charter experiences I have ever had. If we come back to Homer, I will be booking them again.

Captain Jeremy and deck hand Rachel went above and beyond to make this a true ultimate fishing trip! Captain Jeremy easily landed us in the best fishing places, catching halibut, rockfish, and salmon! Rachel was an expert at having all the fishing gear ready to go wasting absolutely zero time and catching the maximum amount of fish allowed. they even were able to squeeze in some orca viewing moments on top of it all! Truly fun time and best crew you will not be disappointed choosing this crew!

Awesome trip
9 Hour Trip – Ultimate Combo Shared on June 14, 20253 adults
We had a great time on our shared boat ultimate combo trip. The captain started off putting in the effort trolling for salmon. No Kings to be had but we enjoyed ourselves catching pinks before moving on to Halibut. We all limited on 'but with loads of monster cod. Gorgeous fishing out on Kachemak bay with a run across the inlet to try for some larger 'but. We ended up with one big boy for the group. Fantastic day all said and done. Both the captain and first mate Rachel were top notch.
