North Carolina is one of the gems of the eastern coast of the US for fishing. Due to its fantastic location, fishermen have been able to reach the Gulf Stream and fish for pelagics in a fraction of the time it would normally take them. With Lucky Strike Charters, you can do the same.

Climb aboard their 40’ offshore sport fishing vessel, built by the capable Key West manufacturer, restored in 2004. It’s powered by a massive 660HP Caterpillar engine, allowing her to reach a speed of 30 knots. This speed makes her one of the fastest charter boats in the area, wasting no time in getting you to the fishing waters. She’s also capable of holding up to 12 anglers fishing at the same time, perfect if you’re planning an organized trip for organizations.

Captain Ed Elliot is an experienced fisherman and charter operator, being a second-generation fisherman. Combined with the fact that Lucky Strike Charters has over 40 years of experience chartering local waters, you are in solid hands to have an excellent fishing adventure. All the required equipment for your chosen trip is provided by the charter operators. This charter offers a fantastically varied set of trips: from great starting experiences such as bottom fishing for Groupers by the coast, all the way to fighting Yellowfin tuna on serious offshore trips, going up to 90 miles!

Lucky Strike Charters gladly welcomes anglers of all skill levels and has a trip for you, whether you’re holding a rod for the first time or gearing up to hook that Marlin in. There’s no minimum age policy for children, all sizes of life vests are provided. The crew will provide catch cleaning and filleting service free of charge.

Versatility is their forte, so free cancellation is available up until 1 day before the trip starts.

Great family trip for sharks

CPT Ed and Mongo were awesome. My family of four went out with them for a trip and they were super welcoming and tried everything to make sure we had a great time. My 14yo son and I have done about 10 charters before but my wife and 13yo daughter had never gone and this was their first. They booked one for my birthday and the day we arrived to our hotel our charter cancelled on account of bad winds. We were super bummed. I jumped in fishing booker and found lucky strike and sent Ed a message asking if they thought conditions were ok. They said it seemed fine and agreed to take us on this last minute booking. That saved the whole trip! We trolled for Spanish mackerel and caught only two as it was slow. We then threw out the net and got some bait to try shark. We caught four shark, one per person who cg was a blast! They were great and I can’t recommend them enough!

captain and crew were great to fish with and be around, i was new to the sport so with advice and recommendations it was great to learn. will definitely be back with them as they are well worth the money, drive, and time. we hit the fish hard, if not for state regulations we wouldve had over 100 to keep but around 30 will do fine!

We used Captain Ed and Dan to do a combined trip to deposit my parent's cremated remains at sea and to fish as we were all newbies. They accommodated our group of 10. After we sent the remains overboard, Dan asked us what we wanted to fish for and explained differences between bottom fishing and trolling. We caught a few Spanish Mackerel but then a few of our group were getting seasick so we asked them to cut the trip short. Had a great experience and would use them again.

Great first experience for my mom and dad’s first fishing charter! Mongo was great and even better with our youngest son who is 3 and all about fishing! Not only did he keep our poles bated while bottom fishing he helped the 3yr old with a pole of his own giving him the opportunity to catch the most fish of anyone! I would highly recommend this crew to anyone especially those with children! We will definitely be repeat customers!

Lots of action!

We had a 6 hour trip booked on a Tuesday in April and the weather forced us to change the day to Thursday due to the wind. The captain kept in excellent communication and offered the change due to weather. We are glad we waited because we had excellent weather, and immediately got on the fish! All in all we came back with a mix of mostly Bonita, Spanish Mackerel, and a few Blues. Captain Ed and Mungo were amazing with the kids (11 year old boys)!! We had 5 people on our trip and the boat could have comfortably had quite a few more! I highly recommend these guys if you are in the calabash area and looking for some fun! Non stop action all day! Thanks guys! We hope to be back down for another trip!
