    (Full Day Trip – Catfish)

    Best day of fishing ever

Capt. Bobby was excellent and thanks to his knowledge and hard work; we filled up the ice chest with fish. Never had a better day fishing. I went with my son and we will have memories for life. I could not recommend Bobby more highly.

    (6 Hour Trip)

Great trip with a great Captain!

We fished Douglas Lake and caught a mix of largemouth and smallmouth bass. Probably 20-25 fish…I actually stopped counting! Many, many nice-sized to 4 lbs

Catfish fishing is a favorite for many anglers. These whiskered fish are common in rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. They fight hard, bite at night, and taste great. Most people target them because they are accessible and active for much of the year.

You can catch Catfish by bottom fishing from shore or a boat. Use cut bait, live bait, or prepared stink baits. A simple slip-sinker rig lets the fish take the bait without feeling weight. Pair it with a circle hook and a strong leader. Drift with the current or anchor and wait. For larger Blue Catfish and Flathead Catfish, fresh bait fish works best.

Expect a relaxed, patient style of fishing with bursts of action. It suits families, beginners, and trophy hunters alike. Many anglers fish at dusk or after dark when Catfish feed more. Bring a headlamp, gloves, sturdy rod holders, and a cooler for your catch. Wear clothes you do not mind getting messy. Handle fish with care to avoid the sharp dorsal and pectoral spines.

Before your trip, check local rules. Make sure you have the right fishing license or permits. Review any season, size, and harvest regulations for your water. Some areas have special rules for certain Catfish species. When in doubt, ask local authorities or your guide for the latest information.
