Had four teenagers, Capt. asked if they were after a specific fish or just see some action. Everyone said "action". Caught 20 Yellowfin, plus, Kingfish and Amberjack .

    Great day fishing!

Had a great time with Captin Pete and Travis. Been on other charters in the Keys before but this trip was definitely my favorite. Pete is a very personable guy. From start to finish he made us feel welcomed and comfortable. He’s very knowledgeable, showed us some of his methods and talked us through everything. Travis helped take care of us the whole time. We brought home some fish and had a great day out on the water! Definitely will book with Pete next time!

Rainbow Runner fishing is all about speed, color, and steady action. Rainbow Runners are sleek, fast game fish that roam warm bluewater. Anglers love them for quick strikes, long runs, and tasty fillets. They often school around reefs, weed lines, and floating debris, so when you find one, more are close.

You can target Rainbow Runners by trolling small skirted lures or diving plugs. Casting metal jigs and soft plastics also works well. Live bait like sardines or mullet is hard to beat. Use light to medium spinning gear for fun fights. A fluorocarbon leader helps when the water is clear. If fish are near the surface, try popping to draw aggressive hits.

Expect fast-paced fishing with chances for multiple hook-ups. Smaller fish school and keep rods bending, while larger adults may cruise alone. This is a great choice for first-time anglers and kids because the action can be frequent and the tackle is simple. Bring sun protection, a hat, polarized sunglasses, and non-marking shoes. Pack water and snacks. Most captains provide rods, reels, and bait, but check your trip details before you go.

Rules can change by location. Always check local licensing and permit requirements before your trip. Learn the area’s open seasons, gear rules, and harvest limits. If you plan to keep fish, ask your captain about the best practices for handling and filleting. When in doubt, release fish in good shape and follow local guidelines.
