A very hot, slow fishing day on Chickamauga. Lots of fish marked, but most had a case of lockjaw. Did manage to get a few crappie, largemouth, yellow bass, channel catfish, and blue catfish.

Slow day for crappie (11 keepeurs), but we did land six nice bass (largest 5.5 pounds). All fish were caught trolling crankbaits running at 12-16 foot fepths over 18-25 foot depths.

Fishing was slower than usual today with about a dozen crappie, one largemouth, one catfish and several white and yellow bass landed. Additionally, two nice crappie and a beautiful largemouth bass were lost near the boat. All but two fish were released today.

The Hits Keep Coming

The Chickamauga hits keep coming. Caught 29 black crappie (21 keepers) along with three other species today. None of the big slabs we found earlier in the week. All were caught on crankbaits pushed and pulled at 1.2 - 1.4 mph at depths of 14-16 feet. Water temperature was 81 degrees at the surface. Nearly all fish were taken before 1000 when the bite stopped abruptly.
