This roosterfish was caught at Monkey Head Island using a live tuna bait. The tuna weighed around two to two and a half pounds, using a 50-pound line. It fought for around 20 minutes here in the Gulf of Papagayo.

The day was slightly cloudy with somewhat choppy sea conditions, but the fishing action was good. Unfortunately, the client became seasick early in the trip, which made it impossible to continue fishing beyond the first few hours.

This is an inshore fishing trip primarily targeting mahi-mahi (dorado) and red snapper. Tuna can also be found in the area, although we are not currently targeting this species on our trips.
