Summertime

These big striped bass keep hanging around Block Island. They are a lot of fun to catch, pull line, bend rods. Smiles all around. But the fish are too big to keep; they have to be let go. So when the charter says they want to bring fish home for supper we shift our efforts to bottom fish. The bottom bite is picking up. The fish---sea bass and fluke--are settling into the summer haunts. I still have a few days open in mid July --- check out the Booker calendar and book a trip.

We are finally getting some good bottom fishing trips. It's not electric fishing; we need to work at it. We fish, move, fish, move. It's work---fun work. People love it. In the end almost always people bring fish home to cook. We are proud of these fish and we want you to enjoy them for dinner. Rhode Island seafood. Summertime.

Block Island can truly be a special place. It has a real energy to it. Striped bass, to me, are part of that energy. It's like the Island and the fish have a bond. Lately that bond has been seen in some phenomenal fishing. We've been getting this trophy fish on spinning rods, casting lures and jigs. I love it. Live for it.
