An early 6am start makes a major difference during this time of year. High heat didnt prevent fish from eating. We started off trolling and the Catfish seemed to be the only fish hungry. We caught 8 catfish right away. Soon after we hooked into some Crappies, SpottedBass and StripedBass. We anchored up and got on some nice size Shell Crackers to end the day.

We started off in 80+ Degree heat at 7am with water temps in the high 70’s. We hit some key locations with very little intrest from fish. We threw top water and jigs with 2 chases and zero commitments. We switched up and trolled with live bait to end up with (2) solid Spotted Bass. It was extremely tough fishing today as the heat contiued to rise.

1st Fishing and 1st Catching… My clients wanted to catch anything and unexpectedly they began to hook into some fish. Huge Gar started picking every rod we had out. Huge bites and scraming drags started off right away. For the 1st Fish ever, catching a 3ft long Gar is the best. We caught mutiple species of fish and released them all.

The high wind causesd white caps on the water and the air was pretty chilly. Our clients said let go for it anyway so thats what we did. I put in the work to produce some quality fish.
