On the afternoon of August 2, ADRENALINA 2.0 departed Cabo San Lucas at 12:05 PM for a 4-hour fishing and snorkeling trip.
Approximately 2 miles off the Cabo San Lucas coastline, we deployed a trolling spread consisting of four artificial lures: purple and Petrolero in the short positions, and Flying Fish and red-and-black lures in the long positions. We also ran a dead Bulito bait short and a live caballito long.
The action came quickly. At approximately 2 miles offshore, a sailfish attacked the live caballito. While the sailfish was taking the bait, a striped marlin simultaneously struck the short Bulito bait, creating an exciting double billfish hookup opportunity.
Unfortunately, neither fish stayed connected, and both managed to throw the hooks before we could bring them alongside the boat.
After the offshore action, we changed gears and headed toward El Balconcito, where the guests spent approximately two hours snorkeling and enjoying the beautiful waters of Cabo San Lucas.
We returned to the marina at 4:00 PM, completing a fun combination of sportfishing and snorkeling.
Summary:
* 1 sailfish hooked on live caballito – lost
* 1 striped marlin hooked on dead Bulito – lost
* Simultaneous sailfish and striped marlin action
* 2 hours of snorkeling at El Balconcito
* 4-hour afternoon charter
* Boat: ADRENALINA 2.0
Although the billfish escaped this time, having a sailfish and striped marlin attack the spread almost simultaneously made for an exciting afternoon before finishing the trip with snorkeling in Cabo’s crystal-clear waters. ???
