Captain: Luis
Crew: Mates Aaron and Noah, Chef Ulysses

Catch: 1 Tuna and 1 Massive Wahoo
Total Game Fish: 2
August 2 produced two quality offshore species for Jay, Jay, Grace, Blakely and Jade aboard the 43-foot Riviera Blue Sky. The Stockton, California group joined Captain Luis for an eight-hour private charter that produced one quality tuna and one massive wahoo.
The combination of an extended charter, warm summer water and two very different pelagic species created a memorable day offshore.
Eight Hours of Fishing Around Cabo
The charter began at 8:00 AM and provided eight hours for Captain Luis and the crew to search offshore, adjust the presentation and remain with productive water.
The crew incorporated the dredge into the fishing spread. Rather than being a hooked bait, a dredge creates the appearance of a concentrated group of baitfish beneath the surface and can help attract predatory game fish toward the trolling presentation.
The strategy contributed to a two-species result.
First came the tuna, providing the group with the powerful, sustained fight associated with these strong pelagic fish.
The wahoo delivered an entirely different encounter.
Known for exceptional speed and aggressive strikes, wahoo can create explosive action when they attack a trolling presentation. On this trip, the particularly large wahoo became the standout fish of the day.

Tuna and Wahoo Create Two Different Battles
Catching tuna and wahoo on the same charter gave the group two distinctly different offshore experiences.
Tuna are respected for strength and endurance, often using their power beneath the surface during a prolonged fight.
Wahoo are built differently. Speed is their signature characteristic, and their strikes can happen suddenly and violently.
Landing both species demonstrated the variety possible during Cabo's warm-water summer season.
A Massive Wahoo Highlights the Day
The tuna alone would have provided a quality offshore result, but adding the large wahoo gave the charter its defining moment.
With eight hours available, Captain Luis and the crew had time to search, adjust the spread and continue working productive water rather than having to return after a shorter morning.
For Jay, Jay, Grace, Blakely and Jade, August 2 ultimately delivered two memorable catches, two different fighting styles and a full day together on the Pacific.
