July 26, 2023 – Cabo Fishing Report – 10 Dorado – 43' Riviera Blue Sky – Captain Luis – 5 Hours – 10 Fish
Ten dorado in five hours made Shelly's July 26 trip aboard the 43' Riviera Blue Sky a high-action summer charter.
Shelly and five additional guests departed F Dock at 6:00 AM with Captain Luis. The dredge was included in the offshore program, giving the crew another tool for attracting gamefish while working within a relatively compact morning fishing window.
By the 11:00 AM return, Blue Sky had recorded 10 dorado for six guests.

Double-Digit Action Defines This Cabo Fishing Charter Report
A five-hour charter requires Captain Luis to make efficient decisions.
The clock includes the run away from Cabo San Lucas, time spent locating productive water, actual fishing and the eventual return to F Dock.
Shelly's group experienced enough activity within that window to finish with a double-digit catch.
Ten dorado meant this wasn't a morning defined by one fortunate strike. Multiple hookups gave the six-person group repeated opportunities to participate and watch the action develop around Blue Sky.
Dorado Bring Color and Speed to This Cabo Yacht Fishing
Dorado are particularly well suited to a group fishing experience.
Their brilliant green, yellow and blue coloration can become exceptionally vivid when they approach the boat. Their speed and tendency to fight close to the surface also allow other guests to follow the action.
That visual element becomes even more noticeable when several fish are encountered during the same trip.
Shelly's charter recorded 10 dorado.
For six guests aboard one private Riviera, the repeated action created opportunities for multiple anglers rather than concentrating the entire morning around one hookup.
Captain Luis Uses a Dredge During This Cabo Charter Fishing Day
The dredge was incorporated into the fishing program aboard Blue Sky.
A dredge is designed to create the visual appearance of numerous baitfish moving together beneath and behind the boat.
The objective is attraction.
Instead of presenting only individual trolling baits, the dredge can make the overall spread appear larger and more active to predatory fish investigating the boat.
It is one component of the crew's offshore strategy rather than a guarantee of a catch.
On July 26, Captain Luis and the crew worked the presentation during a morning that ultimately produced 10 dorado.
Five Hours Produce Strong Results for This Cabo Fishing Yacht
The duration gives important context to the catch.
Blue Sky departed at 6:00 AM and returned at 11:00 AM.
That left five hours for every part of the charter.
Longer trips can provide greater range and additional searching time, but Shelly's group did not require an eight- or 10-hour day to encounter productive dorado fishing.
The action developed within the morning schedule.
By the time Captain Luis needed to begin the return, the group had already accumulated a strong catch record.
Six Guests Share This Cabo Yacht Charter Together
Shelly's group consisted of six guests aboard the 43' Riviera.
The private-charter format allowed everyone to experience the morning together.
Breakfast was included aboard the boat, and open bar service was available for the adults. Fishing licenses were also included.
Those services allowed the guests to concentrate on enjoying the morning while Captain Luis and the crew handled the fishing operation.
When the dorado became active, everyone aboard could watch the strikes, fights and activity around the yacht.
Summer Dorado Complete This Cabo Charter Fishing Report
Late July is firmly within Cabo's warm-water season.
Dorado are one of the species associated with those warmer offshore conditions, and Shelly's July 26 charter provides a useful historical example of what a productive morning could produce.
The most important evidence comes from the actual charter record rather than a seasonal prediction.
Six guests boarded Blue Sky.
Captain Luis had five hours.
The dredge was included.
Ten dorado were recorded.
That combination makes the trip useful as part of a larger historical record showing how species, boats, captains, charter lengths and actual catches have varied across real Blue Sky Cabo fishing days.
