July 29, 2023 – Cabo Fishing Report – 2 Dorado, 2 Bonito – 32' Blue Star Luhrs – 6 Hours – 4 Fish
Four anglers departed F Dock at IGY Marina aboard the 32' Blue Star Luhrs on the morning of July 29, 2023. The charter was scheduled from 6:00 AM until noon, giving the group six hours for a summer fishing trip out of Cabo San Lucas.
The Blue Star found two different species during the morning. The anglers landed two dorado and two bonito before seasickness became an issue and the group elected to return to the marina early.

Dorado Put the Blue Star on Summer Cabo Fishing Action
Two dorado provided the featured catches of the trip.
July is an important period for dorado around Cabo San Lucas as warmer offshore water creates opportunities for these fast-moving pelagic fish. Finding them can involve covering water while watching for bait, birds, current edges, floating debris and other signs of feeding activity.
Once located, dorado can quickly change the pace of a fishing trip. Their aggressive strikes, speed and spectacular colors make them one of Cabo's most recognizable summer gamefish.
The Blue Star converted the opportunity into two dorado during this shortened morning.
Bonito Add Two More Fish to the Cabo Fishing Report
Two bonito increased the day's total to four fish.
Bonito are fast, powerful fish capable of producing aggressive strikes and energetic fights. They may not receive the attention given to marlin, tuna or dorado, but encountering them can add another dimension to a mixed-species Cabo charter.

The combination of two dorado and two bonito meant the anglers experienced action from two different offshore species before the trip ended.
Seasickness Shortens the Cabo Fishing Charter
This charter also illustrates an important reality of offshore sportfishing.
Although six hours were scheduled, members of the group became seasick and the Blue Star returned to Cabo San Lucas earlier than planned.
Guest comfort and safety take priority over remaining offshore simply to complete the scheduled fishing time. Motion affects every person differently, and sometimes returning to the marina is the best decision.
Importantly, the early return came after the crew had already produced four fish.
A Productive Shortened Morning of Cabo Fishing
Every charter develops differently, and honest fishing reports should reflect the actual experience rather than make every day sound identical.
On July 29, the four anglers boarded the 32' Blue Star for a six-hour morning charter. They encountered dorado and bonito, landed four fish, and ultimately shortened the trip because of seasickness.
The result was a genuine summer Cabo fishing experience with two species caught despite spending less time offshore than originally planned.
